Getting started, how does this look?

I want to get a handle on what I'm eating, tracking maybe just for this week. I am pretty sure the cheese, yogurt, milk other dairy should probably get kicked to the curb. I'm leaning towards a keto kick-start. Just wondering what everybody thinks.
Morning:
Bacon 6 slices.
Half and half, 1/4 cup (over the day for coffee).
3 eggs.
Butter 1/4 cup for bulletproof coffee.
Lunch:
Boneless loin pork chop.
Mixed salad with lettuce, spinach, tomato, peppers, cukes, feta and mozzarella. I'm pretty full now, but not uncomfortable.
For tonight:
Roasted chicken thigh.
Roasted country style pork rib.
I'll probably have some fruit also, strawberries and blueberries, and some green vegs.
From the food diary it comes out to, roughly:
Calories ~2100.
Carbs 3% (26 g)
Protein 32 % (158 g). 155-160 lbs is about what I figure to be my lean body mass, so that gives me ~1 g/lb.
Fat 65% (142 g).

You, sir, have a pretty shining example of a Primal menu (Primal only because of the cheese on the salad and half and half in the morning coffee). I think the only thing I'd change is adding something like an oil and vinegar dressing to the salad, but that's just because I don't like dry salads.
Also, two things regarding breakfast:
1. I'm glad I'm not the only one that puts a bunch of butter in the bulletproof coffee. :drinker:
2. I'm kind of jealous that you can eat so much. My usual breakfast is 2 slices bacon and 3 eggs, much more of those and I'm on the verge of being sick, and it's either that or the coffee, not both (admittedly, my "bulletproof coffee" is actually Sisson's "Primal Egg Coffee," so it's breakfast in a cup on its own, but still...)0 -
I'm going to seriously curtail the dairy. In fact I really don't need it, except maybe a shot in coffee. I will probably switch back to heavy cream. Even then it's just a guilty pleasure, and not essential. I had the coffee a few hours before the bacon and eggs. I actually can't eat as much as I used to, being off the wheat. When I ate wheat, I would eat until I was stuffed... I just craved it. I did put a little balsamic vinegar and olive oil in the salad. I don't usually use vinegar, but I always use olive oil,0

That's still more in the morning hours than I can do. Either one fills me up until noon or later! :laugh:0

Yeah, but you don't get to be >200 lbs at 5'5" by being a picky eater, or rather, by exercising control. :bigsmile:0

Very, very nice. You have room for more carbs (aka more veggies) so don't skimp.
If one must have dairy, I recommend full fat... BUT, where I live the whipping cream has crappy additives and the half and half only has cream and milk. In that case, I go for the half and half. However, I now like BP coffee better.
I'm done with calorie restriction but am still eating under 2000 amazingly. It's the FOOD that matters.
PS. I don't do fatless veggies either. Gag. My favourite salad topping is currently avocado oil, with a dash of any of the following: red wine vinegar; balsamic vinegar; apple cider vinegar; lemon juice; lime juice. Finally preferring plain salad dressings - but I know I'll be temped by commercial stuff on holiday; however, I'm pretty committed to no canola and no soy so it's unlikely that I will give in. Unless I find a new product out there that meets my criteria!0 -

Great! Thanks for the feedback. I'm learning to eat more vegs. I've never been a fan of vegs mostly because I don't prepare them well at all. It's not for any lack of recipes. If someone else prepares them, I'll eat them. I prefer them in lots of olive oil and/or butter, garlic, etc. I don't care for vinegar or lemon juice, though I may use a bit. I prefer full fat dairy, so we're good there. Low fat is just plain nasty. blech! I have to get away from the artificial sweeteners though. I've read they can wreak havoc on the insulin response, and being insulin resistant that's the last thing I need. I will have to learn to take my coffee unsweetened (I used to). It won't be a problem at home, because with heavy cream and the butter, it makes it sort of sweet. I'll have to pass on coffee when I'm out.0 -

Coconut cream is great too, and surprisingly, the carbs are negligible.

What Akima said... More veggies will round out the nutrient package nicely and even if it is pulling pre-shredded lettuce and a few cherry tomatoes out of a bag you will be better balanced. I generally drizzle olive oil and Bragg's apple cider on my salad with salt and pepper ( I am totally lazy about it) but I will also add anything else available like if my wife has a purple onion sliced up or anything I can quick grab and toss in (also raw sunflower seeds are excellent on salads).0

Looks good (minus the cheese). I agree with the other posters - add some olive oil to your salad and coconut oil to your BP coffee...a few more veggies. I'm working toward keto - experimenting with my meal combos to see what the carbs are looking like. Good luck!0

Great, thanks. I've taken to salads more and more... romaine lettuce, spring greens, spinach, and whatever vegs the salad bar has. I occasionally make an additional one to take home, and just add the olive oil and vinegar, if I use vinegar, when I'm ready to eat.0

Btw, another thing I thought of...
I know it's only about 4-5 days of paleo with a keto kick-start, but I am wondering how long before I start pissing like a racehorse and losing water. I gauge my puffiness by my watchband. So far it hasn't moved, and I'm not peeing more than usual. I am, however, starting to feel a little more stupid than usual. :bigsmile:0 -

Probably by the end of week 2, depending on your sodium, potassium, and water intake. A rather high sodium intake is actually good on keto, so you don't risk deficiency, but it does take some adjusting by the body. It kind of depends on how fast your body goes fully into ketosis.0 -

OK, so by Fourth of July I should see something. I just didn't when to expect it. It's been so long since I've done this, I've forgotten some things. I'm drinking more water, trying to get 1/2 gallon per day, more in the gym. I heard that the more times you do keto, the faster you go into it.0 -

I hadn't thought of having avocado oil with salad- YUM. Will have to try.0 -
Avocado by itself it great too. Just a sprinkle of salt and lemon or lime.0
