Question about carbs

Hello all,

So, I keep track of everything I eat and so far I am loosing at least one pound per day. My question is that: If I cannot reach the 20 carbs a day will it have any negative impact on ketosis? (tonight I was so full I couldn't eat anymore so I am closing the day with 16 carbs)??

Thank you for any help,

No thats totally fine! 20g of carbs is what's recommended because it's low enough to get you in a state ketosis. Lower than 20g is even better. The only thing to worry about is going over carbohydrates. The limit for most people is 50g, but it varies depending on your body and how long you've been in ketosis. You're doing great; some days are lower in carbs than others.
Also I shoot for 70% fat, 25% protein, and 5% carbohydrate in 1,300 calories. That's 16g of carbs; so it's really all relative.

    Thanks for your reply Devilsplay!

What if I cannot reach the fat and protein recommended for my goals?

I am on 5% Carbs -- 21% Protein -- 74% Fat and 1,600 calories (20g/84g/132g). I work out a minimum of 2 hours a day (high intensity) and at the last meal of the day I am still in gap by so many points and I force myself to eat but I can't!!!
    I've never reached 1,600 calories!
I know that ketosis and starvation mode are good neighbors so I am worrying ... :) but I am not hungry since I started this diet (this Monday)

    Thanks,

You should try to meet your protein goals. They're important for you to maintain muscle, especially if you exercise. Fat intake is less important and only for satiety.
