I am doing okay. Ate only about 200 cals over my budget yesterday, which, sadly, is a HUGE improvement. I prepared healthy breakfast and snacks today. I was supposed to go to a meeting with a catered lunch but meeting was cancelled. Greasy BLT from deli next door? Hell no! I have a spare Lean Cuisine in the freezer—booyah! Tonight we’re having mishmash for dinner, whatever is in the fridge we will eat.

Got in more than my step goal yesterday and am going to sneak out for a walk today before it gets too freaking hot. Leave on trip to Vancouver tomorrow bright and early. I have plenty of protein bars and am bringing produce to munch on too. Wish me luck as this is our first international trip with a toddler!

Sherry, glad that you found sneakers and a gym. If you can, buy another pair to take with you. I wear size 7.5 EE, not an easy size to find (read: Fred Flinstone). I love Brooks Adrenaline and have bought probably a dozen pairs over the years. When they are on sale, I buy two pairs.

I had a July 1 thread starter going with a nice inspirational message so you all need to go read that. But this one definitely has eye candy. :)

I went for a run this morning - 3.25 miles. It was okay. I have a super long massage scheduled tonight as my reward for running the half.

    Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Fell asleep at my computer yesterday, at about 7 pm, so lay down on my couch "for a minute" and woke up at 11 pm. I went out to a place that was still lit up and active and Fells and I ran around it enough times to get in 3 miles. We ended up out there past midnight, but I still count it as June. :)

Tonight I have my trainer workout and plan to run to and from it, although it's supposed to be 90F with 90+% humidity. I found out from last week, that I just take it slow, and it's doable. It's just 1.5 mile there to the air conditioning and 1.5 mile back. Since it's evening, there's no serious direct sun and that makes a big difference, too.

My work started a 'Try-Tri' that will run from June 30 to September 26. I am to choose three options from their list of 6
Activity/ Exercise Level 1 (Standard Triathlon) Level 2 (Long Triathlon) Level 3 (Iron Man Triathlon)
    Walking 10 miles 20 miles 40 miles
    Running 6.2 miles 13.1 miles 26.2 miles
    Swimming 1.5 km (0.93 miles) 1.9 km (1.2 miles) 3.9 km (2.4 miles)
    Bicycling 25 miles 56 miles 112 miles
    Fitness Classes 5 10 15 (1 hour = 1 class)
    Stair Climbing 1,000 flights 1,250 flights 1,500 flights (1 flight = 10 steps)

I'm going for level 3 and with much thought I decided to go with:
running (no problem getting that in!),
stairs (my 'normal' stair walk I did all winter got me at least 56 flights per work day, so even with skipping weekends and
with my Houston vacation, I can still get this done by the end of August)

    Then I was stumped
walking? yes I could do that, but I'm already running and stair climbing, that's a lot of same old same old
swimming? yes, could do that too, probably should, but would rather do outdoor things this time of year, and it costs more money (as opposed to all the other options)
bicycling? probably should. I have a bike, but am still working on not being afraid to ride it in public and not hit anyone or crash
fitness class? yes, I could go to more classes. They're free at the fitness studio I'm going to because I'm paying for membership now with my training sessions. they are also indoor.

I went back and forth for a while and finally went with the fitness classes because I really do want to work on more upper body stuff along with core and leg work. The swimming is a complete body thing too, but fitness classes I think fits better at the moment. Now I have to get to them!

I'm not committed, do you think I should have chosen one of the others?

I think the fitness class is a good third choice!

Glad you understand our fork struggle Sherri...there is way too much temptation here in U.S.!!

And eating out they give you bread and too big of portions and it takes every last bit of everything to turn the extra stuff down....

Laura I saw your starter it was a good one! Don't want to go back!

I am in the middle weight wise, gained some back but not all of it.

Had nia dance today, going for a picnic at Lake Wenatchee, will probably walk around then come home and swim, low 90's today.

    Hi all!

April, good job avoiding some temptation. (Also, nice eye candy thread today!)
Laura, move it over for tomorrow's thread. I wanna see, but typing from iPad at bookstore, so will look later.
Donna, all good choices, but fitness class would definitely create more versatility. Go for it!
Marla, not just bread, but chips too. It's all so hard!

Today I woke with a Charlie horse bad. Went back to bed but it remained sore, so I chose to do upper body at the gym. It was great. LOVE the gym. Can't wait to go back again and again. Need to run to get some burn going. Hoping the calf will be up to it tomorrow. Excited to try my new shoes to see how I like them.

    Have a good one!
