Just joined myfitnesspalyesterday!

Hi My name is Jan and I am 53 years old, I have been overweight my entire life weighing 197 in 8th grade and over 200 in High School. After my only child I weighed in at 280 and for the next 30 years put on an additional 119 pounds. two tears ago after getting on a scale and seeing I was 2 pounds away from 400, I decided to do something about it. I have 5 wonderful Grandchildren and I want to see them grow up! Today I am at 322 feel better and feel like I am stuck here......A friend of mine suggested this site and when I saw the name of this group I thought it would be a good fit for me! I belong to curves and have just committed to a 30 work outs in 60 days challenge! I would Love to be a part of this group and I feel the support and encouragement would be awesome!

    Hi Jan!
    We are very similar in age and weight! I am 52 soon, and have lost about 60 pounds and currently at 308.

    I dont have that many grandkids though, just one right now :-)

    I sure have been wondering about wieght lifting----I keep reading how good it is for losing weight. I belong to the Y, and I swim a mile a week, and do water aerobics.

    Hi Jan :bigsmile: It's funny, your life story in weight matches mine... 200lbs in highschool, about 260lbs after first 2 sons(10 mos. apart) and steady gaining through the years with my highest being 360lbs... I'm at 348lbs right now and hoping to keeping heading down! You have done really well with your weightloss so far!
