Exams Are Over

Today concluded the first four week summer session here at Texas A&M University Corpus ChristiI!
(Hallelujah!)

I am a GPA Nazi, and have always been hard on myself to maintain a 4.0 GPA which promotes freak out and crazy stress come finals week -- and we know what that means -- emotional overeating, nervous noneating, and the possibility of throwing meal planning, & calorie, carb, and protein counting (such as we do here on MFP) right out the window.

I'm proud to say that I managed to record every day this week, stick to my meal plans, eat as scheduled, and even get in exercise twice this week (and due to our fitness challenge, I will be throwing in one more workout tomorrow before I head out of town for the weekend).

Motivation is definitely key ladies and gentlemen! So the next time you're faced with a stressful situation that normally has you reaching for the fridge handle, head to the gym instead or go take a walk and enjoy the summer sun. It will give you the mindset that life is beautiful and you'll want to maintain your health in order to continue to be around and enjoy it!

Summer Session II begins on Monday, so I'll be back at it for another hectic four weeks, but for these next few days I am going to relax and bask in my accomplishment....I've earned it! :glasses:

Now, I'm heading to my doctors office for my weekly weigh in and measurements. Wish me luck!

What are some your "pat myself on the back" moments from this past week?

  • Great exams are over, good for you! When I had exams we started the great gummy bear experiment. The hypothesis was a gummy bear cannot be destroyed. Even in pieces they maintain their shape. Results were taped to a poster board along with notes on the experiment.

For me, I'm happy to say I've been very consistent with weighing and measuring food. Taking control of my intake and getting in the habit of planning and preparing meals ahead of time is a win.
