    I ran this morning -- but not with a flag over my head.

    Happy Independence Day to those of you in the US. Happy Friday to everyone else!

    I ran a 5K this morning and knocked 3 minutes off my race PR. One of my goals for this year was to run a sub-35 5K. I was pretty sure it wasn't going to be today because the race route is very hilly and every year it's hot, but I ran strong & finished in 32:27!

    I started the day with a mini hike knowing if I didn't I would get nothing.

    We are leaving soon for Lake Chelan where the fireworks will be tonight, just going to read books in the park by the lake and relax and have dinner there.

    What a gorgeous day we had! It was a dream!

    Well I ran 5mi this morning, but it didn't even begin to make up for the eating this afternoon. :frown:
    Will just have to do better tomorrow and next week.

    But I did have a nice traditional 4th in my hometown, with family and friends and all the traditional stuff that I can't get where I live (like chili dogs, apple pie, southern ice tea, etc!). This doesn't come around every day. :smile: (actually I'm averaging about one 4th July per every 2-3 years at best)

    Hope it was good for everybody and also happy Friday!
