Hi! I'm Kim and I am really bad at first messages on these boards! I have a tendency to ramble! LOL! I am 40, divorced, single mom of a Sophmore in high school and twins in 8th grade. I teach middle school general music and choir. Back when I was 30 I'd lost 120 lbs and got down to 204, but after a long separation, divorce, and going back to college full time, I put every pound of it + back on. It doesn't help that I eat when I am stressed out and emotional. I also have PCOS. After putting the weight back on my highest weight was around 398 lbs, but 393.5 when I started my new journey on June 14th. Why June 14th? Well one of my dearest friends told me on the 13th that she's getting married on August 15, 2015 and I want to truly celebrate with her. I don't want to just sit at the table and watch her and everyone else dancing and having a good time. I want to be out there having a good time too and really that's the bottom line for me getting moving on being healthier again. I am so tired of sitting around watching everyone else live life and have fun doing all the things that I want to do. I'm tired of taking my kids to Six Flags and sitting and reading my book and watching them and others have fun riding the rides! I lost 120 lbs back when I was 30 and to celebrate my 100 lbs gone I went to Six Flags and rode the roller coasters! I want to do that again WITH my kids! They were too little before. I want to ride them with them. I want to take a vacation with them and have fun! I want to be able to fly in a plane, be comfortable in my seat. Walk without getting tired or winded and KEEP UP with other people, not be the last one there. I want to be a better teacher in my classroom. I want to be a better mother, I want to be a better me! I can do it. I just needed a little push and my friend getting married was the push I needed.
Being accountable is huge. My friend who is getting married, is my accountability partner. She's super supportive - despite her not having to lose a pound! We created a google document and I take a picture of my scale for my weigh-in every week and add it to the google doc. I actually like doing it. I took a frontal and side pic of myself and put those on there as well. Plan on documenting by picture as well every so often on that google doc. Being on here is also keeping me accountable. It's so helpful for me to track my food intake and documenting what goes in my mouth helps me be a more responsible eater!
Ok, well that's pretty much my story. Feel free to ask questions! Happy to be here and looking forward to a wonderful journey with you all!

Hi Kim,
Sounds like you have some really reasons to motivate you and a plan on how you're going to get there. Congratulations to you! My name is Virginia and I'm just a little over 2 weeks into my new plan/goals. So far things are going a whole lot better than I anticipated so I'm super grateful for that. Hope you have a great evening and it was nice to meet you.0
