Yesterday's eating was pretty bad. I had to do SOMETHING, so I went for a run with the intention of doing five miles. We'll let me tell you that carb loading IS REAL! I still had plent y in the tank, so I kept going and ended up closing out 10 miles! My feet hate me for it, but I definitely redeemed myself for yesterday. Gonna prbly take tomorrow off and do the gym M-Th next week and run just the weekend F,S,S.

What a great thread starter today! Lots of good reminders there.
I had a very active morning. At 9:00 I met my friend Laura at her gym so she could give me some swimming pointers, because I want to become a better swimmer. She said she had a bunch of day passes so I didn't even have to buy a pass, which was nice. The pool was also very quiet, which was nice. Maybe a couple other people there at any given time. I took swimming lessons as a kid but I didn't want to put too much time into building up my endurance until I knew I was doing it right. Well I wasn't, so this was great. First she had me hold onto a kick board so I could practice breathing the right way (which I hadn't been). Once I was comfortable with that I added in the arms. She showed me the breast stroke, which I'm not ready to master, and the back stroke, which I did like. And we did one lap of sideways squats and at the end I ran the length of the pool and back. It's a lap pool so the shallow end the water was at my waist and the deep end it was at my chest. Despite the fact that I can run for 3 hours I couldn't swim more than one length of the pool without having to stop & catch my breath, so it's going to take some work! But I had fun and look forward to more swimming.
Then I stopped at my own gym & did my rotational core homework from my trainer - 4 sets of 4 different exercises, with a quick warm-up on the elliptical. While I was there my cousin texted me to go for a hike, so we walked the 2.5K loop of a trail here in town that's wooded & hilly. Nice to get some steps in. And that was all before 12:30 so I came home, ate lunch, and took a nap.
