Trying to let this be my motto. On Tuesday, Thursday, and today this week I ran to the fitness studio and then a 45 minute to an hour of class or trainer workout and then ran home. On Wednesday, Friday, and tomorrow the plan is to be a little lighter. I just did a small run Wednesday morning, a long walk on Friday, and tomorrow I'll be in the car all day. I'm heading to Houston, TX! So Sunday I drive to Greenville, SC. Monday, in my sister's town of Greenville, I'm hoping to do a 8+ mile run. Tuesday I'll drive to Baton Rouge, LA and then on Wednesday do the shorter 5 hour drive to Houston. I'm hoping to get in a run on Wednesday morning.
I'm likely not going to post much during this time. Hope all of you do well!0 -
That is the goal to do those things!
Hot day in hundreds, day off work...couldn't sleep last night so missed Nia this morning. Will swim later but maybe not for long, the smoke is bad outside...going to be stuck indoors this week.
There is fire in mountains not far away and wind blew smoke here. yuck!!0 -
Well tomorrow's thread starter is set because I made a duplicate one for today, but I used the photo to make tomorrow's.
Donna you do so much traveling - I don't know how you do it! I'm such a homebody. Hope you're able to post a couple times while you're traveling to let us know how you're doing. Is this a vacation for fun, or something for the dogs?
Marla I understand why you didn't sleep with those kinds of temps. And the smoke sounds awful. Is that something that happens regularly where you live?
I got out for my run just after 7:00 this morning & went 9 miles so it took me just under 2 hours. It was my longest run since my race three weeks ago - starting to build back up again. It felt good to get out for a nice long run, and according to my heart rate monitor I burned just over 1000 calories so that was a bonus.
My cousin has a cabin this week (she belongs to an organization that has cabins you can rent) so I'm going to head up there this afternoon. I'll bring my suit and if the lake water isn't too cold will get some swimming in. It probably seems strange to think about cold water in mid-July, but this is Minnesota.0 -
Great to see so many workouts!
This morning I walked my toddler in the stroller to the playground, played, and walked back. It was at least an hour of walking and pushing the stroller. Wasn't too hot when I left at 8:45 but when I got home at 10:30 I was sweating buckets.
Went out for a bbq lunch with my hubs (a hot date for us) and even though I brought home leftovers, I ate a lot. The coleslaw I ordered wasn't good so I picked at his fries. The meal was delicious and too salty. I will likely eat fruit and lots of it later.
Goal Report FRIDAY:
Check: Prepare healthy meals & snacks in advance so it’s EASY to make healthy choices. Yesterday I made curry chicken in the slow cooker so my healthy dinner was waiting for me!
Check: Guzzle loads of water
Minus: Reach my 8k step goal EVERY day.
Check: No fast food
Check plus: Eat 5 fruits/veggies a day0 -
Wind changed so it's half as bad, may do swim later.
Yes we get a lot of fires near here since I live in the mountains and in small valley depending on wind can hang here.
Most summers are good until august but they said this was a bad year and fires started beginning of July.
Sometimes we don't get any smoke at all from the fires, it all depends on the wind direction.0 -
Hi. Rest day here, and boy are my abs sore from yesterday's workout! We finally did our mtn picnic today and I spent all evening at my sisters (aka Snackerella), so my calories are galactic. I'll have to hit the cardio this coming week to try to burn off some of today's bad decisions.
Good night!0
