Blood Pressure Meds and Weight Loss

So I plan to go to the doctor tomorrow, but I've noticed lately as the weight has come off that I get dizzy when I stand up or get up from the ground. I take blood pressure medicine (Lisonopril) and am wondering if with the changes I've made maybe I'm due for a reduction in BP meds.

Those of you that have worked your way off BP meds - does this sound like symptoms of low blood pressure?

    I wasnt on BP meds, but my BP was on the high side, very close to be prescribing meds. Lost the 48 lbs and now my BP is consistently in the normal zone. Definitely mention this to your Doc. Could be some thing else, but you may be on the right track.

    I would ask the doctor. I also take lisinopril. Sounds like you could be going low. I have a meter a home to check my blood pressure. It's very useful.

    Discuss it with your doctor. An adjustment to your dosage might be needed. I'm on BP meds, had a similar experience a few weeks ago, only to learn the lightheaded, dizziness was actually from an inner ear infection and not the BP meds.
    Hope you get it sorted out soon.

    Yes, these can be symptoms of low b/p amongst other things. I've been having the same problem and have been gradually reducing dosages. It would be helpful to have a b/p monitor at home so you can check it when you are having symptoms. Mine has gotten as low as 70s/40s on occasion, and no, that's not good. LOL.

    I was taking several pills for blood pressure, as I lost the weight the medications had to be constantly adjusted. I now just take lisinopril 1/2 of a 40mg tablet a day - definitely talk to your doctor

    So the doctor is having me cut my BP meds in half. I see him for my 3 month diabetes check next Friday and I can't wait! Should be the best visit ever!

    Great News Glad you were able to cut your dosage. I know My doctor let me Cut my dosage in half at the last visit.

    I almost was a happy as the first time I bought a smaller belt for my pants.

    Congrats! That's awesome. I see my doctor in two weeks for bp and diabetes. I'm hoping she will reduce my medication. I'm sure you will have a great diabetes check next Friday. You have been doing great!
