Happy birthday valmaebel!
Marla, hope you are breathing easier today.
Laura, every day I’m impressed with your workouts. You do two-a-days like it’s your job!
Sherry, taking your parents to the gym was a great idea. My dad and stepmom like to walk on the indoor track at the fitness center by their house.
Yesterday it was hard for me to feel satisfied. Today I brought in 3c of watermelon and brought in oatmeal for lunch (with a peach it’s a fave). Usually on Friday nights we get take out or order pizza but since my weight is still up and my TOM is around the corner, I decided to save the treat meal for when I really want it. This morning I threw chicken and salsa in the slow cooker so I know a healthy dinner’s waiting when I get home.
Goals Report Thursday:
Check: Prepare healthy meals & snacks in advance so it’s EASY to make healthy choices.
Check plus: Guzzle loads of water
Check: Reach my 8k step goal EVERY day
Check: No fast food
Check plus: Eat 5 fruits/veggies a day
FAIL: Eat within cals +/- 150. I ate waaay over.
Update: I’m going to come up with some new goals. Any suggestions?0 -
Thanks April I wish it was better, I have a feeling it will last for at least a week or more, fires are everywhere around here and I am in a small valley.
When this is over there will be a ton of clean up all over my yard from the ash and my pool I am wondering how it will ever get clean!
Leaving tomorrow for 3 days, looking forward to fresh air but not looking forward to the drive, only one freeway pass open and it's got road construction! So much for relaxation!
Packing for trip and cleaning house today....still stuck inside. At least it's cooled down to high of 85.0 -
Didn't get to gym today due to upset stomach after rich dinner last night with fam.
Now my fam is planning an impromptu party tonight, so the overindulgent vacay continues. :indifferent: yikes! Guess it's a good thing I only do this every couple if years, although I miss my family in the meantime.
Busy busy, hotta go. Hope all well0 -
Sorry I'm posting late. Rest day today! My brain wasn't in the mood to rest but my body needed it after 10 days of tough workouts since my last one.
The good: had my annual physical today and got a great report from the doctor. Labs were all good. Blood pressure was good.
The bad: I forgot my packed lunch at home, opted to eat something not even a little bit healthy instead, and have just been grazing on random stuff tonight (a little rotisserie chicken, a little whipped chocolate peanut butter, a Fiber bar). I'm way over on calories today. But tomorrow will be better.
Funny Sherry how our stomachs rebel from rich food - once upon a time I could eat anything and not have it bother my stomach, and that sure isn't the case anymore now that I don't eat like that very often. Glad you're enjoying your time with your family!
Enjoy your time away Marla! Once you get past the driving part anyway.
April the slow cooker is the best thing ever. I leave for work just before 8:00 most mornings and don't get home until anywhere from 7:00-8:30 at night so it's really nice having dinner ready. As far as goals, is there an area you're struggling with the most right now where having a new or different goal will help?0 -
April, no real suggestions for goals. Due to my long trip, recovering from various procedures to fix my womenly issues, and my birthday my eating and workout habits have been atrocious. I'm just working on setting any goals at all!
.
Marla - how long do you have to drive?
From Here On Out - I figure indulgences have their place. As long as I have developed a healthy lifestyle, the vacations or birthdays can be a little fun. Besides, if I don't allow the fun times, I end up falling of the wagon and engorging myself on bad foods.
My goals for the weekend and headed into next week:
- get back into my routine. I've been staying up late and sleeping in, which have been fun but very unproductive. So I want to start setting my alarm and starting the day on the offensive instead of the defensive.
- actually count my calories. Been off the wagon for a few weeks now...time to crack the whip. Whenever I have a vacation I splurge. The only downside is I get headaches the first few days I get back to my regular eating habits. It's like my body gets used to the new caloric intake and rebels when I cut it back down. so pray for me over the next few days!. But better now then in a few weeks when school starts and life gets legitimately crazy.
- get one workout in each day. Not my usual hour long workouts. to start I'll just do some quick 30 minute ones. Ease back into it.
- Let my hand heal! I tend to push myself and I need my hand back in shape. I was pretty good keeping it immobilized today but. I have to make it a week which is tough for me.
-enjoy these last two weeks before my oldest starts school. She was half day in kinder and this year will be the first time she is gone all day. I want to get some precious moments in with her while I can!0
