Another weekend.....and the sun is shining :) Glad that we got a bit of rain for the sake of the gardens but I am glad that its done for a few days at least. Got an 8K run in yesterday, and am planning to go again today. I am trying to beat my mileage for last month and so far I am right on par....however there is an extra day in July so that might help. lol

Valmabel - your weekend goals sound great, you should have a good successful weekend by the sounds! I find weekends tough

Sherry - how long are you on vacation for? Hope your stomach is feeling better.

Laura - glad that you had a good dr's apt, good stuff! Glad that you got in a rest day....well deserved I'm sure!

Marla - Scary stuff about the fires, I hope they can soon get them under control. Enjoy your 3 days of fresh air!

Aprilfoodbrid - the slow cooker meal sounds delish.

Great run Maureen! That's a lot of running this week!

I went out for a run, got about 3 minutes into it, stopped, turned around, and walked home. Probably a mile round trip including the warm-up walk. My right IT band hurt down by my knee and it didn't feel like the kind of pain that was going to work out on its own by running. So I came home, rolled it, went back to bed for about an hour, then got up & tried again. Went to run somewhere different just for a change of scenery and I think that helped. Goal was 8-10 miles and I ran 10 (which is 16K).

The utility company is trimming trees so there are guys in my yard. I live in town so it's not like it's super private here, but still it's weird having people right in my yard. I'm ready for them to go away now, please. Plus I seriously hope they're planning on taking away all the trimmed branches they've got piled in my front yard. I have a lot of trees. They were here when I got home from my run so I went out back to say hi (my power line is in the back corner of my yard) and one of them told me my back yard was like a jungle.

awesome 16K run Laura! I haven't done a run that long since I was training for my 1/2 marathon. It is so inspiring to read about your running. I did do a 12K a couple of weeks ago, maybe I will keep trying to build up. Next might be 14K. So glad that your IT band cooperated the second time out. Hope those tree trimming guys are soon done, and take their branches with them!

We are off to town, probably will have dinner somewhere. I am starving, so hopefully I will make good choices! We went kayaking this afternoon, probably about an hour and half, and part of it was bucking the tide. Sure was nice coming back.

Maureen you are logging awesome mileage! You certainly hit the ground running. You're doing great in your old age lol

Laura, so glad to hear you got a good report from your MD! Jeans are one thing, blood pressure & labs another.

Sherry, hope you are enjoying all of the family togetherness :)

I'm checking in but not logging food--it's that time. Not to get too personal but it's my first after taking Seasonale. And I'm not refilling that rx.

After breakfast followed by dessert, I gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted. Sitting in front of a plate of fish & chips at lunch, I felt full before I was halfway done. I really paid attention to what I wanted rather than what I was allowed to have. Then I had another dessert. Win some, lose some.

On the right track, I went for a long walk with my tot & got in my 8k steps,

    New goals tomorrow.

Whew, another doozy of a day. As if last nights party wasnt enough, tonight it was a concert. I don't usually drink, so I decided to be desig driver. Everyone else drank enough for me too! Haha. Another day of no exercise (too rainy and too sleepy today) an d too many calories (but not as bad as previous days). I'm hoping today was th pinnacle of all that, so I can slow down the calories a bit. I have about a week left of US vacay, then back to Greece for a month of island vacay (island with no gym and no hope of running). Staying on track feels impossible, but I'm trying my best not to veer too far off track. I'm jealous of all those mi and kms y'all are getting!

    Late, gotta sleep. Gnight:yawn:
