While this threadstarter is superficially about running, really it can be anything. Today I'm applying it to my eating -- my eating is running me, not the other way around, so it's time for that to stop.

I'm going to have to taper my running for a bit. I've been having some tendon issues & the doctor said if it gets worse I don't have to stop running completely but I should cut back my miles, and I hurt enough after yesterday's run that I need to take her advice and taper it has a chance to heal. I could keep pushing and end up not being able to run at all, which would be so much worse. It started up in the final weeks of my half training & had been getting better, but the past couple weeks increasing my mileage again it's flaring back up. She gave me some suggestions on things I can do that will help.

Went for a trail hike with my cousin this morning. We just did the 2.5K trail loop (my cousin has some back issues) but it's wooded & hilly so it's really a nice hike. It's warm and humid and there were flies biting my head so I was pretty much ready to be done anyway. Heading up to the lake this afternoon for my niece's birthday party so hope to get some swimming in.

    Great threadstarter!

My eating's been running me too. It's very hard for me to eat within my cals. So I'm taking some steps to change that.
    1) Fruits & lots of them
    2) Veggies & lots of them, making soup in the slow cooker to have before dinner this week

Kind of blah today, will be amped up for a healthy week tomorrow.

If any of you are able to work out everyday, how are your able to do so.

Lately, because I am so tired by the end of the work week, I seem to have the energy to be able to work out five days a week for about two hours per day.

Good thread starter, and I can say the same about eating running me lately. However, I was noticing and talking to my dad about it. I have gained weight this vacation, but I don't feel like my size has increased a great deal. Idk if it's because of relative comparison, since there seems to be a lot more obesity in this area than where I live, but I don't feel like I've ballooned and I feel like I'll be able to get it back under control shortly after vacay ends.

Jj, 5 days a week is a great program. The group refers to daily check ins for the purpose of accountability. Rest days are important, but so is accountability so that a rest day doesn't turn into a res month. ;-)

I'm slipping a bit into the "rest" rut, but I'm on vacation and out of my normal routine. I had another very inactive day, but I feel pretty certain the afternoon nap I took gave me some real health benefits--I needed it! Hoping to run/gym Mon thru Thursday this week and drive North Friday, but it depends on family. I think my kids and I both are getting a little tired of vacation (never mind that it continues when we get home too, maybe the change will do us good).

    Have a good one

Hi, came on here to post at 8am but don't have the websites to do pics on my ipad.

Both yesterday and today doing lots and lots of walking. 4 miles yesterday and at least 6 today.

The fresh air feels great. We go home tomorrow.

Stopping to spend the day tomorrow near snoqualme falls that's where they filmed twin peaks show if you ever heard of it.

There is a outlet mall in town near there.
