Great one today!
I'm scheduled to walk with a friend at lunch & hopefully have Pilates after work. I have my gym bag in the car just in case Pilates gets cancelled (in the summer that happens sometimes due to not enough people being available).
I'm on a break this week from running to give my foot time to heal. I'm not super excited about that but I know it's the right thing to do.0 -
Hi, having a rest day. Fighting sinus headaches and tiredness, probably from smoke last week.
They say it might rain today and tomorrow I hope it does! (Other than I have tickets to outdoor play tomorrow)0 -
Laura, of course I want to know what was in your crockpot
Sorry to hear you have to take a break from running to let your foot heal. Last summer I hurt my feet, ignored it, and then by the time I went to the podiatrist I couldn’t do ANY impact activity (even walking) for over a month. So you’re smart to pay attention and not make it worse.
Marla, glad that you are able to go outside. All of your hikes sound great.
Valmaebel, you are right—today is a new beginning. Seems like you did well with your weekend goals. My advice would be don't show up to the wedding festivities hungry. Protein bars are your friend.
In the past, I would use a binge (like the one I had over the weekend) to say eff it and keep eating thousands of calories over and inhaling junk food for days or weeks. While I would ideally like to stop binging altogether, I am glad that after I fell off the wagon, I got right back on.
Change starts today! I’ve been listening to Eat, Move, Sleep and the point of the book is that every single thing that you do—every bite, every step, every workout—is either a net positive or negative. Every day is a chance to do something healthy.
Monday Goals report:
1) Eat within cals +/- 150. CLOSE ENOUGH. I was over by 155.
2) Have a cooked veggie PLUS salad and/or soup with dinner. CHECK! I put loads of spinach into my mac and cheese, and had a big salad, and had some of my homemade veggie soup. The soup (new recipe) was actually really good!
3) As soon as I walk in the door from work (Danger Will Robinson! Danger!), put out plate of veggies and hummus. CHECK! I put out hummus and celery sticks. I actually sat down and ate the soup while the casserole was in the oven. It really helped take the edge off my hunger.
4) Log in dinner FIRST so I can work backwards from there. NOPE! I came up with these goals mid-morning.0 -
April I had pork chops & pasta with (low sodium) cream of mushroom soup in the crockpot. And I have a couple days worth of leftovers! You did great with your goals yesterday!
Marla I hope you feel better! I can't imagine that smoke was very good for you to have to breathe in. It rained here last night really hard. We needed it.0 -
Valmaebel, you might be onto smthg about the humidity here. It's been very swampy feeling and I'm not used to it.
Didn't even try for anything outdoors today. I got in my full upper body workout at the gym. Spent the rest of the day with family and it was great. Oh yeah, yesterday after I checked in, I ended up playing some basketball outside (it was very muggy, but too fun to care). Tomorrow will probably be my last day at the gym before I go. Time flies.0 -
I finally had this moment of clarity earlier this year that helped me on binges. When I started to feel regret and want to just binge more...even that day...I pictured every calorie. instead of looking at each day as a new start...each minute, each calorie as a new start. It helps.
The wedding party went okay. It wasn't fantastic choice wise...but I didn't engorge myself. I skipped any snacks, ate small portions of dinner, and had one piece of cake. The only splurge was I had two glasses of wine. I don't normally drink and it was a special occasion so I indulged.
Headed to the gym tomorrow, and excited about it!0 -
I had a busy day in town, where I rewarded myself with two new tops and a pair of shorts. Then I spent the evening playing "mom" for my dad since my actual mother is out of town on vacation and my dad doesn't know how to cook or clean or anything. I caught up on some homework, which makes me feel almost as good as working out hahahahah I wasn't able to workout until 10pm but I did get a full workout in: 40min 10min abs and I feel great this morning. Hopefully with a less busy day I don't have to cram everything in late at night.0
