Paleo Smoothies

After my adherence to primal/paleo slipping drastically thanks to my sugar addiction (chocolate bars, ice cream and gluten free treats) and gaining a bit of weight back, plus another (not diet related) health issue....sigh... I decided to re-evaluate my diet and get back on the band wagon. After going through my food dairy I decided I needed to add more more servings of vegetables and omega 3. The easiest way being a smoothie to getting in veggies and hide the disgusting taste of cod liver oil ....as eating more food/veggies than I already am is just too hard/unappealing. So that started on the 13th of July and to help with my sugar cravings I decided to try initiative eating as well.
In terms of getting over my sugar demons this has worked really well (haven't had a sugar bing yet!!!!.) But I'm getting bored of the smoothies and I feel like adding a bunch of spinach to a mostly fruit smoothie isn't really the idea I had of getting in more veggies. Anyway I've googled heaps of recipes and they all use veggies but are load with sugar or use veggies juice ...or other things like add protein powder. I want whole veggies cos that's kinda the whole reason I'm having a smoothie and I don't want sugar/sweeteners or like/agree with protein powder.
So do you guys have any paleo veggie/herb smoothie ideas that don't taste like *kitten*? I like to use coconut milk/kombucha as a base and I have to be able to hide my gross cod liver oil in it.
BTW it can have fruit in it I just want it to be more inclusive of veggies.

I really like smoothies, too, and understand how you can get bored. I added a few chunks of cucumber to my standard banana, spinach, mango, pineapple, flaxseed smoothie a few days ago and it is delicious. I alternate between coconut water, water, and almond milk for the liquid. I've used cod liver oil softgels in the past that had no taste and seemed to help a lot with skin issues - made by Carlson. No taste, and it was easy to swallow a softgel rather than drink a spoonful of the oil0

I can't give you any recipes but you might want to refine your search. "Low GI Smoothies" or "Low Sugar Smoothies" might give you the results you are looking for. Berries and kiwi are fairly low GI fruits to sweeten green smoothies. Avocados give a buttery taste and good mouth feel. Good luck.0

When I make green smoothies it will always includes a cup of coconut milk, a wedge each of lemon & lime, 3 cm fresh root ginger and 1/4 frozen avocado/banana. Then I add my greens - usually spinach, lettuce, celery, cucumber etc.
I prefer a small sized thick smoothie so I can skull it ;-)0 -
I certainly can't help with ideas. But I'm in to see the feedback from others. Every smoothie recipe I've ever seen has way too much fruit for my sugar addiction. I suspect that veggie smoothies aren't very palatable on their own. I also can't access a nice selection of greens - even spinach has been scarce for the last few months, but I order them in on the plane occasionally. Boom and bust...
The easiest way for me to get my fermented cod liver oil/butter oil down my gullet is to eat it straight up before a meal. I tried it in smoothies for my child and it was a fail. However, now that we are used to the Green Pastures it doesn't taste that bad and the meal that follows quickly gets rid of the after-taste.0
