Great reminders on today's thread starter!
Jess I find I have that same problem if I don't get enough calories during the day for whatever reason -- I tend to WAY overeat once I do finally start. I can't let myself get too hungry or self control seems to go out the window.
Rest day for me today.0 -
Thanks Laura. I feel better knowing I'm not the only one. All those calories late in the day did take a toll on me though. I find that quitting eating earlier, and exercising earlier show more results.
Which goes along with me being so freaking exciting to get my summer classes done today, so I'm not spending so much time studying and I can get a healthier day to day routine going again. I did work out last night, but I joined a summer challenge which adds a few extra activities to your normal workout schedule, I've been so busy I haven't had time for much else besides a quick cardio workout. Now, I can finally participate in group activities with more determination!0 -
Maureen, great thread starter today. Green or bust!
Sherry, jet lag plus boiling temperatures do not equal fun. Glad you are getting back to your usual (non-supersized) meals.
Laura, which one are you in your ticker? I couldn’t pick you out for love or money.
Donna, hope your poison ivy is better. Half a box of baking soda in a tepid bath could provide some relief.
Jess, keep it going keep it going!
Yesterday I got in 102% of my step goal—SUPER nice outside so I went for a walk before work, a late morning walk and a lunchtime walk. This is how I stroll.
Thurs Goals report:
1) Eat within cals +/- 150. Check! I went 14 calories over. Oh, pish posh! I win.
2) Have a cooked veggie PLUS salad and/or soup with dinner. Check plus! I had soup and salad and sugar snap peas with my dinner.
3) Appetizers! As soon as I walk in the door from work (Danger Will Robinson! Danger!), put out plate of veggies and hummus. Nope. I wasn’t hungry when I got home from work (maybe because I bought an ice-cream cone on the way home).
4) Log in dinner FIRST so I can work backwards from there. Check!
I often fall off the wagon *thump* hard on the weekends. So last night I asked about successful healthy weekends. Evidently the key is planning! So I’ll do more of that instead of just “seeing how it goes.” I might even go to the grocery store after work tonight (sans toddler) instead of tomorrow.0 -
Enjoy the rest day, Laura!
Sounds like a really fun vacation, Sherry! I wouldn't worry too much about the exercise there as it sounds like you'll get a lot and the fun sort, just getting to and playing in the water and with the kids.
I wouldn't worry too much, Jess. I've found that just eating the best that you can, most of the time, usually works out okay.
I did it! I'm so happy! I got on the rail-trail and ran 5.5 miles, then just walked leisurely around as I ate Bonk Breaker (from my Stride Box) and drank some water. Then I noticed that there was a ranger station right there along the rail-trail with public restrooms! Yeah! Used the rest room then ran home, I started walking when I got close the the end, but covered 10.5 miles running! My plan was for 10 miles.
I find today's thread starter funny, I;m in the best shape I've been for a long time and currently my skin is a mess! Lots of itchy red patches all over.0 -
Donna poison ivy would be one of the exceptions to the thread starter. ha
April, I'm the third person from the left in my ticker, wearing a blue shirt. Now I'm probably closest in size to my niece who is next to me in the photo in the pink shirt.0 -
Smokey out still with fires that seem non ending this summer so did treadmill inside while i watched tv.
Then went to watch chick flick with friend. Fun day.
I work all day tomorrow, will swim after...0
