Paleo Birthday Cake!

My mom always makes my birthday cake for me and this year I asked her to make a paleo cake. Here are the recipes for the cake and the icing:

It turned out really good! She was concerned that it wasn't sweet enough but it was plenty sweet in my mind, also quite chocolaty too. One thing to note in case you want to make this recipe; it comes out pretty dense for a cake. In fact, I bet if you threw some walnuts in there you would have some pretty killer brownies.
In any event, I loved it and I was so glad that my mom took a chance and made it for me.
