Hi Everyone, Hope everyone is having a fabulous day today. I look forward to hearing from everyone. So I have another question I thought I would ask, since we are still getting to know one another, again, only answer if you want to.
1) What do you as a reward for yourself for meeting your goals, (weekly, daily)
2) Do you, or do you plan on making a reward for completing long term goals, if so, what are they, and how do you plan on getting it accomplished?
I look forward to seeing what everyone does. I do not allow myself to have food of any sort as a reward anymore, that was an issue I struggled with. So now, I allow myself to buy something small, for example, if I meet my pounds lost goal for the week, which is only a pound a week, then I can get something I might need, right now makeup, since I never really got into before. I thought I would try, so I bought one of those things your can scrape your feet with, I have terrible feet and can't afford to have other people do them. I would love to set up a trip to the beach, for like next summer, not that I plan on being able to wear a bikini or anything. lol, but I would love to look better in a swim suit. I would love to take a trip with the family, with the ability to go our for a day with no hubby and no kids. In order to do that I have to loose 50 or more pounds. (I would love to put money down for the pounds I loose, but then if I were to need the money, I feel like I might get discouraged) Well, Good luck everyone, I must go feed JT now. Have a wonderful rest of your day, or night, whatever it might be.

I don't really have a reward system for meeting my goals. I suppose my reward is watching the numbers go down on the scale for now. Or, maybe my reward is feeling better about myself and liking what I see in the mirror a little more - I guess that's more important to me right now.0

My joy at losing my first 10kgs saw me buying an iPad Air as a reward. I was too ecstatic and couldn't believe it. That's it though, no more rewards until the ultimate goal is achieved. I tried the food reward too, bad, bad mistake so that's it, rewards are over. Now I just tell myself whenever I pass a mirror, 'girl, you are beautiful, keep it up'. Hahaha I'm such a silly person0

Rewards….. yes, I have to admit I do that and mine are usually food. However I do not reward myself for losing the weight, I reward myself for exercising really hard or harder than normal. But I do not reward myself every time. For example last Sunday I swam for the first time 135 laps or 2.1 miles in 2h 14 min (slow and steady). That burnt for me approx 1352 calories. My reward was a small mocha chip blizzard from DQ. I did order the small (before my lifestyle change I would have ordered the medium) to the tune of approx 570 calories. Today I did what I call an “old people triathlon”: I walked 3.5 miles in 66 min, I biked 20.89 miles in 86 min and I swam 0.6 miles or 38 laps in 43 minutes (and since I am old I went to the doc, took a nap and had lunch between those exercises….I am practicing being a senior citizen in about 16 years, lol)…..my total burn was 1804 calories, but I did not get a reward…. I feel very lucky to have the time to do that, but my baby is grown up and it is just me and the “old man”..... I currently do not work, since my hubby just went through 2 major surgeries and we are waiting to get orders to go overseas for the last time before retiring in 4 years …..
I am rewarding myself with food, but only for exercise and not for weight loss, since not being able to have a burger once in a while always derailed me before. I really only do reward myself maybe once a week at the most. Sometimes it is spontaneous, but other times we just have to have that Black Angus Burger from the best little burger joint in Central Texas and we plan on it. We usually share one order of fries and have un-sweet ice tea with it. Another thing we do is walk there instead of drive since it is about a mile from our house. Plus we usually try to get some extra exercise, a light breakfast, lots of fruit during the day and maybe a sandwich with a salad for dinner.
For us treating ourselves has kept us on track. Before (I started my first diet 37 years ago, lol) I always fell off the wagon, because I was not allowed to eat a burger, have ice cream etc. Now I get to have one once in awhile and it has made sticking with the healthy living plan sooooo much easier, but yes there is the danger of treating ourselves more than we should…….. When we started, we limited ourselves to 1 treat a week and always did it in conjunction with the extra exercise. I have found we do it less after 6 month into the lifestyle change than in the beginning.0 -
Keep telling yourself you are beautiful...... great Motivation!!!!!!....I need to learn that......0

Getting my nails done or a new CD are some of my treats. I don't have any big plans for down the road, feeling good about who I am should be reward enough after years of self-esteem that has been tied to how much I weigh..0

Hmmm rewards. I really like the idea of that.. I tbh havent done any so far. And maybr thats why my loss has been so slow. Maybe I need to come up with something. I dont like the idea of using food. So it would have to be something cheap cause I dont have much money. Maybe ... maybe a mini piece of make up would be ok. I like that idea. Its something I do like to do, wear make up. It makes me feel prettier wearing make up. I like that. Thank u for the idea! Ok well when I hit 89.9 I get a piece of make up.0
