April look at that the other way -- you've lost over 55 pounds, and you've managed to sustain/keep that going for years. That's something to be celebrated! How many people lose 55 pounds fast and then have it back on again six months later? Isn't it so much better to lose slowly but keep losing?

I'm so happy it's Saturday. Mentally I needed a day at home. I will head out later for a 3-4 mile run, but this morning I'm getting my house pulled together, doing laundry, etc. In the interests of babying my feet I'm going back to the track for my run because I really noticed the harder impact when I switched from the track back to pavement. It's a little bit more of a hassle (it's driving distance away, not walking distance) but it if helps speed recovery then it's worth it. I need to stop at the grocery store anyway so can do that while I'm out.

Went to Sam's Club last night and bought fresh fruits and veggies (fresh asparagus!), fresh salmon fillets, and some frozen lean turkey patties. Salmon and asparagus is maybe one of my favorite meals. I'll pick up some fresh dill when I'm at the grocery store. I do believe that no food is off limits, but I also try to eat as natural of foods as possible and I've been getting further and further away from that (including way too many artificial sweeteners, which have been giving me headaches), so I'm making a fresh start with that. There's a 24 day challenge that I did once before that I'm starting again today - no alcohol, no added sugars, no artificial sweeteners, no dairy, no processed foods, lots of fruits and veggies and whole grains and lean proteins. I'm eating the same number of calories as usual but just making different food choices with them. Last time I did this it really set me up with good food habits so I'm hoping that happens again.

Edit to add that my new profile photo is showing the skinny jeans I bought yesterday from Old Navy. Was going to text the photo to my niece to ask her if she thought it was okay but instead just went out and asked the lady working the fitting rooms. I also had boot cut jeans to try on and we both liked these jeans better so I bought them. They were on sale & there was a coupon ($5 off a $40 purchase if you tried on jeans) so really I paid $14 for them. I also bought 4 shirts & a cardigan. The shirts & jeans are all a smaller size than what I bought the last time I was there earlier this summer.

Laura, congratulations on the smaller new clothes. Hope you enjoyed the run.

I managed to get up And out this morning to the fitness class that I wanted to go to. I ran to and from it. It was very much upper body, today. Thursday class was more of a lower body workout. Now both upper and lower are sore. :)

We had a flyball tournament today. Normally tournaments have 40+ teams and run all weekend from 7 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 7 am to 3 pm on Sunday. These tiny tournaments that one group puts on are very limited, only 11 teams are chosen, using a draw system and the whole tournament takes half a day. So I needed to get to just south of Philadelphia by 1 pm (which would give me time to unload and set up in an area with my dogs), or 2 pm at the latest when the racing starts.

I got home by 10:30 am and got a call from our flyball club captain. She wanted to know if I had the tournament balls because she didn't remember who was bringing them to the tournament. Then I remembered that I had promised to bring the balls, but had forgotten to get them from the obedience building when I was there yesterday. Oh no! I was glad she called though, as it would have been bad to have gotten to the tournament and found that we had no tennis balls! But that mean a half an hour added to my drive, so I needed to leave immediately! I took a shower, because I had to, figuring that 1:15 pm would work.

I got the balls and started north to find that I-95 had a problem on it. We were doing stop and go and barely moving. I took a calculated risk and headed cross-country, hoping that the I wasn't being stupid. I arrived at the tournament building at 2 pm exactly, ready to run with Fells inside, just in case we were in the first race, and I got another call from my captain. The rest of the team had remained on I-95 and none of them had arrived yet! I went inside and found that the entire tournament had been delayed by a half hour to give the people coming from the south a bit more time. This rarely ever happens.

Everyone arrived, from all the clubs, within the 1/2 hour window, so we were all happy. Fells ran well and enjoyed himself. The drive home was uneventful and was done in very light traffic. It took half the time.

So so glad I went to class this morning!

Tomorrow morning I'm going to try to run for 11 miles.

I guess I need to dig deeper. Exercise is fine, treadmill yesterday, nia dance and swimming today, but both last night and tonight did terrible with food...

I just don't seem to have any will power after work when tired.
