Histamine intolerance

I have been eating low carbohydrate and Paleo over the last 10 years or so. Over that period of time my seasonal allergies seem to have lasted for longer periods of time during the year as well as a worsening of symptoms. In addition, over the counter remedies have not worked as well as they used to.
It came to my attention that from reviewing symptoms that I may have a histamine intolerance. In doing research I found many Paleo foods can contribute to histamine intolerance.
Fish/seafood
Spinach
Dried fruit
Citrus
Left over meat
Egg whites (?)
Fermented foods
Sausage
Chocolate
Berries
Avocado
Unfortunately this pretty much looks like my Paleo food list. It is really difficult doing N=1 experimentation to eliminate offenders especially with varying daily levels of pollen exposure. I have found that 3 grams of vitamin C is extremely effective in reducing symptoms. (I wish I had this knowledge 30 years ago). I think I have had this intolerance from birth. It seems that histamine intolerance symptoms are pretty common. I would bet that many of us are walking around un-diagnosed.
If you suffer from hay fever symptoms I suggest you search histamine intolerance. There is great information regarding the topic on the net. Many are from fellow low carb or Paleo advocates.

Good food for thought. A lot of these are on my "staples" list as well, though thanks to the Whole 30, I can easily put together a week's menu plan without any of those and still have a variety of satisfying food.0

Would local raw honey be on that list? I was wondering, as it involves pollen, I think, and yet is recommended to help hay fever.0

I am not suggesting that you avoid those foods. I think they are healthy foods for MOST individuals. Please do not avoid those foods based on my post. Each individual is different. I am trying to muddle through an ISSUE that I have. For example, most find nightshades healthy foods but a minority have an issue.0 -

Not sure. I don't eat raw honey and I have not seen any information pro or con.0 -

Oh, sorry, gave you the wrong idea. I was trying to be encouraging to someone who might want to try this approach by noting that I thought it would not be too difficult to implement. I cut out a whole range of foods when I started this, and it was hard at the time, but infinitely worth it. Now that I have learned to enjoy a variety of healthy foods, it's not as hard to eliminate something or at least eat it less often and in rotation with other foods.0
