My mare and I are doing a 2 day clinic this weekend taught by the Mounted Police Association of America! its supposed to teach confidence, as a rider, which will transfer to the horse. We do things like walking our horses over bridges, through tarp tunnels filled with orange smoke, by an "attack dog" and even over fire!! Im really hoping it gives me the confidence to jump! Im pretty confident out on the trail - my main issue is getting my mare to cross water, it takes forever and generally is the end result of a battle involving her running backwards and rearing, and scaring me a bit. Im hoping we can work through this, even though there will not actually be a water obstacle here. More than anything though, Im hoping he gets me over my fear of jumping!! Super excited - no matter what happens - i think its going to be a blast and well worth the money!

That sounds like fun. A friend of mine is a Level III riding instructor for Mounted Police work. She trains people around the country and has even been to Canada. The training things they do are great. I have never participated but have seen stuff.

I really hope you enjoy it and gain some confidence. Keep us posted on how it turns out.
