Just found out the restaurant we are going to tomorrow night is a BYO, so that is good. I will bring one bottle of wine that Len and I can split and hopefully shut it down when we get home :happy:0 -
Robin - I had jury duty last month. I had to be there at 8:30, and I just sat and did nothing until 11:30 and was dismissed for good. So, I'm good for at least 12 months. That was the first time I had ever been summoned.
Amy - Aruba for Thanksgiving?! Oh my goodness, that sounds so amazing!
Kate - BYO at a restaurant? That is awesome! I'm not sure we have many (if any) of there here in my hometown. We used to have a bar like that, but it closed.

Yes, I think Aruba for TG will be really nice:)
Monday=0 drinks
I think I can get another 0 tonight!
Anyone watch the Leftovers? I thought the season finale was good, so glad it will be back for another season!
I have heard of BYO, weird liquor laws! In Colorado, liquor stores can be open on Sunday now but they used to be closed. And I wonder if people know that the beer at grocery stores and gas stations is only 3.2 alcohol? When I see people buying it I want to ask them! What's the weird liquor laws in your state?0 -
Wait for it.....
0 last night!!!
Mostly because I was hung over from Sunday  Too many Vodka/Guava juice cocktails during football.
Maybe I will go for another today and tomorrow before we head to the beach for a long weekend getaway.
I have Leftovers on my list to watch, Amy. Right now we are binging Orphan Black..which I really like. I have such a crush on the girl :blushing:
We have zero liquor laws in Cali..lol. YOu can buy any day, any time..pretty much any place. I get most my booze at Costco or CVS has good sales too. :drinker:0 -
In KY you can buy beer, wine and liquor after noon at the liquor stores on Sunday. Just last year (right before Derby) they changed the laws so you can order it out at a restaurant at 10am. Grocery stores can't sell anything but beer, but drug stores can sell it all. Just across the river in IN you can't buy anything on Sundays.0
-
When we went on our roadtrip south in June I couldn't believe how difficult it was to get booze or a bottle of wine! Thank god I live in Chicago, anything goes here as well!
Monday-0
Had planned on a zero tonight, but my boss is pushing me to the limit today, so it might be wine.0 -
Slight change of plans for the evening...long story BUT happy hour it is! 2 drinks, is the plan!!!
Sunday-0
Monday-0
Tuesday-2
Wednesday-2-3 glasses of wine

Friday-??
PA has liquor stores, where you can only buy wine and booze. Some stores are now open sundays...luckily we have one in walking distance
Beer can be bought at distributors or super VERY FEW supermarkets.
AND THAT IS IT>>>DAMN YOU PA :laugh:0 -
With Kansas being in the bible belt, it wasn't until about 2 years ago that the liquor stores were open on Sundays. Now they are open on Sundays, but close at 8pm. The grocery stores and gas stations sell beer up until midnight (except Sundays), but they only carry 3.2 beer. Otherwise, for all of your beer-liquor-wine needs, you have to go to the liquor store. They stay open until 11pm on Friday & Saturdays, but close at 10pm every other night (except Sunday). I'd pick living in Kansas over Oklahoma ANY DAY though....because they only sell 3.2 beer every where, and when we went to the casino in Tulsa a few years ago...we were there on a Sunday, and I couldn't even buy a mixed drink, it was 3.2 beer only for purchase at the bar, which is sooooo weird to me!!0
-
What does 3.2 beer mean?
I can't imagine not just being able to buy beer, wine, alcohol at the grocery store....that seems so weird to me. We rarely even go to the liquor store. I go to my wine outlet store often and we have Binnys that Mike goes to for his fancy beer.0 -
Chloe, 3.2 is the percentage of alcohol in the beer. So, here in Kansas when we refer to "grocery store" or "gas station" beer we're meaning 3.2% beer. Otherwise, all the beer at the liquor store is 5%+.0
-
Same here Chloe...I can't remember the last time I set foot in a liquor store. They're hard to find here because you can get beer, wine, booze anywhere.0
-
yeah, sorry, 3.2% alcohol, which is lower than the kind sold at the liquor store and in bars. We also have last call at 2am, which means no booze served after 2am. But not sure when they turn it back on?! because I have never noticed having to wait for a bloody mary but I am not that early of a riser!0
-
I remember way back when I lived in Colorado they had 3.2 bars because back then 18-21 year olds could drink 3.2 beer.(the driver's licenses were vertical compared to over 21 licenses that were horizontal. :noway: that was when other states had 18 year old drinking laws.:drinker: then California has always been 21. No one in Cali knew what 3.2 beer was. Until 2 years ago we had state run liquor stores in WA. some were open on Sundays and they were not very convenient. In order to open it up they tacked a huge tax on it. So we have what equates to about 20% to 25% sales tax on alcohol. Coming from So Cal it was hard for me to get used to. I was so used to buying my liquor in the grocery store. Now I can again except between 2:00AM and 10 AM which I found out when I tried to buy a bottle of wine on the way to the airport at 6:00 AM.
Jury Duty, I haven't had to serve. I was released early on Monday but I have to keep calling in to see if they need me.
The drama continues at work and my BP is high. Such is life.0 -
I'm not sure if Kansas ever allowed 18 year olds to buy beer. However, when I was in high school, I asked my Dad to buy me beer (I was 17) and he did, but only once. He is 72 and from Virginia, so he thought that it was legal to buy beer in Kansas when you were 18. When I asked him a 2nd time to buy me some, he asked me why and I told him because I wasn't 21...and well, he didn't buy me anything else. LOL, but I at least got away with it once!! Just funny to me.0

I think it is so odd that there are store that only sell 3.2% beer??!!!!!

I stepped on the scale this morning & it just started my day off wrong. I've been eating well & working out, and cut back on my wine/beer drinking during the week...and I'm up 5 lbs. 5 LBS!? WTF! I don't know what to do. If it doesn't go away (I think it's water weight from my period), I had a doctor's appointment on Monday and will see what to do. I went off my BC in July, so I thought it would help me lose weight. UGH. Sorry...TMI. Just wanted to rant.0 -

I didn't weigh in this morning, it probably wouldn't have been good because of the travel and the over-doing it, generally.

Oh I don't plan on weighing again until the 20th....I know I have done some serious damage from Labor Day weekend and beyond...its just better for my sanity to avoid it for a bit!!! :happy:0
