spaghetti squash- storage

My farmers market has some great spaghetti squash right now. It is a really great deal too. I want to buy a lot of them, because they get expensive in the winter/early spring here. I googled storage and saw they can keep for 1-3 months raw and 10-12 months frozen (when cooked first). My question is how to freeze them, do I just cook it and seperate into strands then freeze, or do I make a recipe and freeze the whole thing?

I would cook it, separate the strands and freeze them in the portions you will need when it's time to prepare your recipe. Now if you want to freeze a dish that you can just warm up and eat then by all means, prepare the dish and freeze it! :-)0
