Probiotic vs Digestive Enzymes?

Anyone take either? Or have thoughts/opinions on either?

Looking for something to make me errrmmm... More regular.

I get enough fiber (most days) and drink enough water (most days).

I had the same problem a while back, now I eat about 2-3 bites of kimchi a day and let nature take its course. There was three days there I was starting to get worried, nothing worse than bloating for a poor night's sleep. This worked for me, I don't eat yogurt so have no opinion there.

More fat might help. Try adding in some coconut oil if you don't already use it. I used probiotics for a while, but they didn't help me.

Fermented food might help. Fermented food with a probiotic might even be more beneficial.

I can't eat fermented foods. I use prebiotics and probiotics. I had decided, after a dose of antibiotics, that my gut flora might benefit from a little support.

A a prebiotic I use resistant starch. It is a food that is not digested in the gut but is food for good bacteria in the gut. Resistant starch is found in par boiled white rice and potato starch (Bob's Red Mills). I eat a cup of par boiled white rice OR a few tablespoons of potato starch (I alternate) when I take a probiotic. I adjust my diet for these carbohydrates. I take a 10 strain/ 20 billion probiotic (Vitacost) to seed good bacteria in the gut. I don't take these daily but 2 times a week as support.

I have been following this routine for 6 months or so. My regularity is much improved.

Side note: I am a guy. I don't have skin issues and really never have since my teenage years. I had a small spot on my wrist of red, flaky skin, which I moisturized 3-4 times a day with coconut oil. I have had this spot for years. After 4-6 weeks I noticed that the spot disappeared. My overall skin condition is free of any irritation. I can't say that it is directly attributed to my use of the prebiotic/probiotic but I can't think of any other changes I have made.

Search: "resistant starch gut flora"-if you are interested. It is a hot topic right now. Do your due diligence. Good luck.
