Hello all,
I am new to the group, and completely new to Paleo eating. Third day in and I am so pleased. Everything that everyone said was true and I feel great
My energy is through the roof, I don't feel deprived, my life isn't revolving around thoughts of food like it has been on past plans.
I've noticed a couple of new and interesting things that I hope will continue to improve; my sense of smell returned and I am breathing freely- it's like my sinuses have been enlarged! so cool, I didn't even know I wasn't smelling as well until it came back....
I have had a swollen thyroid-looking neck (no thyroid issue, though they test frequently) ever since I crested the 250lb mark and it's recently gotten so bad that it's uncomfortable to put my chin down while stretching- this morning I notice that it's decreased to the point that I can see white sections that were untouched by the sun and when putting my chin to my chest I can still breathe! woah! My belly is down and my pants are noticeably looser, I've lost that over-full balloon feeling that I used to feel after every meal.
After three days grain and dairy free? Is this possible? I can't wait to see what else happens

Yes, your experiences are real; don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I have experienced similar improvements, plus many more. And yes, some of them occurred within days of getting rid of foods that were hurting me. I was most resistant with giving up dairy, and still have occasional small amounts but dairy definitely does cause me intestinal upset and sinus issues.
I laugh when I see people say "but I'm not sick" with the mere suggestion that food affects health. Yet, a minute later, it's the sinuses, the allergies, the joint pain, the GERD, the depression, the fatigue...... on and on. People are so used to being sick that it's "normal". I was there at one time too. When asked, I would say I was healthier than most people. Maybe in comparison I was at times, but I was NOT healthy and didn't even realize how bad it was until I got better. We humans seem to be masters of denial.
My story is in Success Stories. A bit rushed and with errors, but there. lol0 -
Welcome! I find that congestion is related to things I am "allergic" to. I put it that way because I have never been truly allergy tested, but if I eat certain things my sinues fill immediately. Be aware of this and if it returns, you know you have a culprit! Glad you are feeling great!0
