Got in 5k this a.m. Much less pain today. My a.m. route has much fewer obstacles and curbs, so it's easier to maintain a good form. Hoping that gradual increased volume WITH proper form will help eliminate the problem. Not sure what else today will have in store. Kinda itching to get to the gym, but idk, There's also a bike fest today that might be fun for me and the kids. Will check back later.

    Have a great Saturday,

Heading out to Nia dance class soon then work, thats my day. Saturday so should be busy. I am part time person normally but main girl is on vacation so working all weekend and more days. Next week goes back to normal.

And I don't think I have said but we are selling our house next spring and talking to realtors now about advice for what needs to be done this next 6 months. Our house is in good shape so its mostly packing up things early to streamline house and cleaning garage, my husbands domain but it is messy. And his office.

We are moving to downsize house so my husband has less to take care of, we have acre now, and so we will outright own the house with no mortgage. And moving to Olympia, WA on the west side. Back to city life but an area there full of evergreen trees.

After all the smoke the last three summers from forest fires lasting a good chunk of the summer we are done with mountain life. I will miss it here more than hubby. I have lots of friends, nia, bookclub, etc.

Sherry I'm glad you got in a good run! Hope you found something fun to do later in the day.

Marla moving can be very stressful! But I don't blame you for wanting to get away from smoke. You've barely been able to enjoy being outdoors this summer. Because you have so many interests hopefully you can find activities once you move where you can make some new friends, and of course the Internet makes it very easy to keep in touch with people who live even very far away.

I did a virtual 10K race this morning - Beat the Blerch. The real race is this weekend in Washington state. It sold out in minutes so they opened up a second day which sold out in minutes so they offered a virtual race kit, which I ordered. You could opt to run 10K, half marathon or full marathon. This was my longest run since my foot really started hurting back in July. At about the 5K point I was really questioning whether I was going to be able to finish. It just felt really hard. I ran 5 miles last Saturday though so told myself that I should be able to go at least that far, and if I ended up needing to walk part of it at the end, then that was okay. Somewhere in the middle of the 5th mile the run finally started to feel good. My 6th mile was a full minute faster than my 5th and I finished strong. My time was 1:16:10, which I was really happy with (my 10K PR is 1:14:42). I figured I would be in the 1:20-1:25 range considering how little I've been running.

And then I mowed my very long lawn. Rain is supposed to move in later and I was so overdue to mow I just couldn't put it off any longer. We've had a pretty miserable week for weather so it was nice to get a little time in the sun today.

Marla, a lot can be said for city living. I love it and could never be this active in a rural area. Good luck with all the preparations.

Laura, you did Beat the Blerch! The Oatmeal is so funny and considering he's an ultra runner, it's fitting that he put a race together. Well done!

I ended up taking a nap, trying to recoup the 4 hours of missed sleep last night. Felt much better and even more healed afterwards. Fam just took a neighborhood walk this evening for gelato and DVD rental. The weather is perfect and I'm hoping for another run tomorrow.
