I'm not exactly new to EM2WL, I tried it about 2 years ago before ditching my weight loss efforts all together out of stress, etc. But I'm excited to be back! I calculated my activity level based on my Fitbit data and didn't realize how much I had been underestimating my caloric needs. It's no wonder that every day I "dieted" I binged at night...I was starving myself at 2000 calories a day. Although I'm still skeptical that 2800 is what I need, I'll try it out. I walk almost 5 miles a day in just life activities and some of that includes either running, tae bo, or weight lifting. I'll be using this thread to report back.

Hi, welcome adriennehw! So glad you are back to giving EM2WL a try! You won't regret it if you stay with the process. Eating ENOUGH is key...and the reason why other diets and fads fail in keeping the weight off. Not eating enough can cause binging, as you have personally experienced (as was in my case too!). It's best to slowly increase your calories up to what your Fitbit is telling you to eat - you could increase all at one time, but that can cause some initial gains on the scale - if you go slowly, that helps to minimize any of those gains. Give your body a bit of time to adjust to the new calorie level - you should begin to feel much better and have much better success in staying the course.
You can add me here on MFP for support. Also, feel free to check out the main EM2WL forums at www.em2wl.com for additional support from team members and to meet others like you on the same journey! Again, welcome! Be sure to let us know how you do.0 -
