    Food (so far / planned):
Breakfast - 1/2 egg, 3tbs egg whites, a little cheese and 1 piece of bacon (= mini omelet)
    Lunch - 4oz pork chop (grilled), 1 banana, 1 orange, 1 low-fat yogurt.
    Dinner - TBD

Exercise - None yet. Need to walk around work purposely or do some squats when I get home. I'm not going to lose weight not moving!

Water - None yet. (Been up 3 hours and have drank nothing... bad habits)

Do I mix up my workouts?
    - Only if it's a prescheduled plan or I'm using workout videos. I do switch up goals, but generally without a gym, I like walking, squats, and push ups.

Breakfast: Roti and Raw Banana Stirfried
Lunch: Roti and Green Beans with Scrapped Coconut Salad.
    Dinner: Rice and Curry.

Water: 1.5l. It was a very hot day yet my water intake was sort of low.

    Exercise: 30 mins walk

Yes i prefer mixing up my workout or else i find it difficult to stick with it. I usually work out to dvds. I also dig through youtube, fitness blogs and magazines for new workout. I switch up my routines a lot which needs lots of planning.

I mix up my workouts with Yoga on Wednesdays and Saturdays and then some type of cardio on 2-3 of the other days(on a good week lol) like going to Curves, the elliptical, treadmill and incumbent bike or hiking, walking dogs, riding bike when the weather is cooler.

I know I have not been posting, but thought I'd give it a try again, One thing that would really motivate me to post more is if there was a little more continuity which could be accomplished by posting a topic by the week with a daily motivation start within that week's post.. That way we could all see comments made from the days before and get a chance to interact more. I feel like posts are lost after each day , so there is not much point in posting in the evening or at night even though that is when I may want to post. The other way, if someone wanted to post later, their post will have more of a chance to be read and responded to.

    Any thoughts?

Breakfast: Half a chia seed and turkey sausage omelet
Lunch: Half a piece of veggie packed meatloaf and .25 cup mashed garlic sweet potato
Dinner: Portabella mushroom veggie burger on whole wheat and flax sandwich thin with a cup of baby spinach
Didn't really eat my food today because of my sinus infection.
I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 30 prisoner squats for my squat challenge.
I'm still trying to establish the habit of working out at all, so I don't really have any variety yet.
I'm up to 8 cups of water, but the night is still young.

I'd like to take up yoga, but I've worried that I need to go to a class. Can I just follow a youtube routine, or do I need to go to the class and make sure I can do it right?

If you are a beginner, a class is the better option.

Food: Pretty much the usual. Scrambled eggs, cheese and avocado for breakfast. Low carb sandwich for lunch. Kielbasa casserole for dinner.
    Water: 8 cups
Exercise: Only go a half hour of walking in today and yesterday I got in about an hour and a half of walking. (No circuit training) I would have tried to get in something more today but I have a bunch of errands to run after work,

I like to do a mixture of working types. Getting in cardio with my walks, runs, and zumba. My circuit trainings each focus on different parts of my body - one day arms, one day legs, and then one day for abs.

The problem with trying to do yoga with YouTube or a DVD , especially as a beginner, is that it is hard to see the different moves and poses on the screen while you are trying to do them, and you won't get any feedback to make sure you are doing the poses correctly.

I agree with others, it's best to do a class for the first time. Community recreational activities, gyms, and sometimes colleges offer classes. There's also people who have started or are starting yoga studios. I have many friends who teach yoga classes in their spare time as they try to build towards having their own studio or regular classes...

Hope you find a class that works best for you. Make sure to ask if it's a beginner class, there's now large varieties of yoga and it can be hard to figure out what is what.
