Well, I hope you all had a great last day of September! Over here it is the start of a new month and I really need to get off my backside and focus on my Xmas challenge goals!!! I am such an emotional eater.....and the stress for this accreditation thing at work is building daily, it is hard to focus on 'myself' and getting fit and healthy!! The team comes in from the USA in mid October and should be here from October 19-23...so hoping I can hang in there without going way overboard on the calories!

I am going home to the US over the Xmas holidays and would certainly like to be able to do my walk/jog exercising I managed this summer for a couple weeks when I go home!

How are you guys doing? The weather in your neck of the woods has got to be getting (or is much better) for your outdoor activities! So what are your plans to keep moving??? More hikes?? Bike rides?? How about Dee in St. Louis with her new fitbit?? Steph are your still out there?? Yesterday I surprised myself and got my 10,000 steps in according to my fitbit....it was certainly not the steps at work as I am basically bound to my office and secretaries desks for the moment writing, reviewing and editing policies and guidelines...but i came home and cleaned, vaccumed, mopped etc...and I think I must of out did myself with the steps during that time when my fitbit alert went off for 10,000 steps.

I think I am going to start a daily thread...just to keep me accountable. No topics, just a daily hello.....to all and I want to try and keep myself positive! We have all done an amazing job so far...I look at you guys and the numbers on the scale that have come off and am amazed!!! You do not have to respond daily as I know you guys are busy with your regular lives...but if you feel like stopping in and checking in every now and then, that would be great!!

Nancy...where the tempeture is finally under 100 F but still above 95!!!

September was wonderful, but I can't believe it is gone. Now that it is October I realize that I don't have all that much time to finish putting my Halloween costume together haha. I am with you in that I am an emotional eater. I will try to eat away my stress at times. The fact that I am aware of this does seem to help a good amount, but at times I see myself slip. With my classes last month I have seen myself eat a bit more than I should and that has contributed to my little plateau. The good news is that this past week I have managed to be better and I can use that momentum to carry me to Christmas.

This morning as I drove to work it was around 50 F and it was wonderful. I did not manage to get my hike in last weekend because the weather decided to not cooperate. The storm that weekend made it the rainiest September we have had in a very long time. I am hoping to get a couple more hikes in before the mountains get covered in snow, but that will just mean that it is time for sledding again.

    Hello Hello everyone,

It's been a fairly good September. Hit many goals and accomplished quite a bit for myself so I am happy.

I actually posted about my last big bike ride in the other group form (I think you are all member's right?) if you want to read about it, otherwise I can post it here as well.

I hope avoiding the stress eating goes well for you Nancy. I've been finding it easier over these past months to not go overboard when it comes to stressful time and food. It still happens from time to time but I can handle it a lot better now. I just have to remind myself to evaluate what I am doing before I put anything in my mouth or think about eating something. If I can give myself a moment to think about it I can usually talk myself out of it. I have to remind myself it's usually never worth it and doesn't solve anything. if I can except that conclusion then I can usually let go of some of the stress.

The weather is cooling now, but I am thankful that I started working out int he peek of summer so I got use to exercising on 90+ degree days. I'll keep riding through fall and see what happens as the weather cools. I'll probably need to pick up some cool weather riding gear. I'm not sure what my asthma will do but we will see. If it starts getting harder then I will see about adding in swimming at the community pool (thankful to have an olympic size community lap pool that is heated year round). My real hope is to be able to bike back and froth from the pool so I can get in double exercise. We shall see.

I just ordered some new cloths (though old navy kindly placed the order three times, joy). A small set since I know I will be replacing them in two months.

You both are doing awesome!! I am very proud of you and your determination to move forward in you 'get healthy journey'!! Thanks for the advice Pat on the stress eating. I have to sit down and talk to myself and turn it around. I will...just need time to sit and talk to myself!!!

And Pat thanks for the link about your bike ride. I actually dropped out of the other group. I felt I could not contribute much.

We have not heard from Dee in 5 days..nor has she posted. I hope she is OK. Steph has not either. And I still miss Karen too. I had her address but now I can't find it as I wanted to send her a note and some spices she had requested.

Well today is a short day at work for me...and next week is a major holiday here...the EID and I would venture to say that 99% of the 'local population' at work is off on holiday....sort of makes you wonder what would happen with the 'expats' leave...who will work! Hummmmmm ...oh well! So it should be fairly quiet at work next week so we can get a lot of work done for this upcoming survey we will have mid-October. Then i can make plans for my trip home in December!! Yeah!!

Keep up the fantastic job you two!! It is inspiring to me and I will get my 'sh@t' together and re-group and take control of my eating...and also get back on track with the exercising plan I want to start up!!

    Have a good one!!

Yesterday was quite lovely. After work I was able to join my friends for a weekly basketball game. It is a lot of fun, but man am I sore after we play. THis weekend looks like it is going to be beautiful so I am hoping to either get in some tennis or a short hike. I am also doing a deep clean with my buddies (they are also my roommates). Hopefully that won't take us too long.

Anyone else doing anything exciting this weekend?
