LCHF is a "Fad" - a 100 year old one

If you have not seen this book it's really worth a look (and it's "free")
Go here and download the pdf:

LCHF "diets" got their start in the medical community due to the positive effects that carb reduction produced in relation to diabetes (which in those days was minuscule compared to today).
Years before insulin was even "discovered", and based on mostly observational evidence, they realized the connection between carbs, weight loss, and improved overall health.
The year was 1917, nearly a century ago.
After you've downloaded the book, scroll to page 13, Table IV, and review the list of "Foods Strictly Prohibited",
then,
take a look at the foods recommended and those acceptable "in moderation".
Finally, look through the recipes (Almond Flour, really?)
And the next time the clown car starts the "...it's a fad..." BS, you needn't feel guilty for that smug reaction to their ignorance.
If 100 years qualifies as a "fad", what does one call a 40 year "experiment" (LFLC - eat less/exercise more, it's all your fault, you can't count, and you've no willpower and are a sloth) that produces results like a 300% increase in obesity and diabetes AND a 95% FAILURE rate as a long term "diet"?
(It's really not a "trick" question)

Very true but Banting clearly had a conflict of interest <vbg>0 -

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
How many of us deflect these exact same concerns today? This author (Steffanson) believed that these concerns had easily been dismissed by science back in the 1920s and '30s.0 -
