Much needed play date today. Needed to chat with another mommy, and in particular a friend I haven't seen in a long time.
Walked an extra tram stop both going and coming back. Wore my "good" running shoes. Ankles still doing pretty good, except some calf muscle discomfort right as we got home (was walking extra fast, as I had some groceries for the fridge). Basically very happy that things are turning around for my ankles.0 -
Marla hope you're feeling better -- sometimes a long vent is exactly what you need! It might not change circumstances but at least you have a chance to get it out of your head.
April I totally understand that feeling of being kind of grateful when something cancels. Sometimes it's fun but sometimes it's just one more distraction or complication you don't need to deal with.
Sherry glad you were able to get out for the play date today! Taking care of your ankles seems to be paying off. Don't rush back too fast (I did with my foot and was really discouraged when it started hurting again).
My trip was a lot of fun. I had a great time with my friend & her family. We did Zumba for over 2-1/2 hours, then picked up smoothies for a late lunch, groceries for dinner that night, and spent the rest of the evening at her house. I spent some time coloring with her 5 year old, then got in some play time with her 2 year old. For dinner my friend prepped turkey burgers & red potatoes and her husband grilled them, so it was delicious and healthy. My friend & I got up early this morning to go to the gym. I did 45 minutes on the bike while intentionally keeping my HR under 135 (homework from my trainer). My Max HR was 140 but my Average HR was 129 so I'm calling that a success. We had to go early so we could get back in time for her husband to bring their older daughter to Sunday School. We had breakfast then I packed up and started the 5 hour drive home. Physically I'm pretty tired (I woke up at 5:15 yesterday morning and woke up at 4:15 this morning) but mentally this was a recharge I needed.0 -
Sherry, I know just what you mean about needing mama play date. I could use one too!
Laura, I never knew so much fun could be had in Fargo. Glad you connected with your friend & had family fun. Got a kick out of all your wall posts this weekend.
Skipped swimming today & had a much-needed catchup day. I also got ready for the week with clothes, etc. it got cold fast so I'm going to have to dig out fall/winter season clothes. Last week I ordered a pair of land's end starfish fleece jeans (read: higher end pajama jeans.) Will I have the nerve to wear them to work?0 -
Late post I went to party at friends after work.
This is for Monday too...going on longer hike with husband near top of Stevens Pass in the cascades. Iron Goat Trail.
Should be fun, will be gone all day.0 -

I love me some fleece pajamas, so I was curious and looked these up. omg! They remind me of the soft, stretchy maternity jeans that ruined me forever (most comfortable...and flattering....things I've ever worn. Wore them for months after birth! haha I could never understand WHY non-maternity clothes couldn't be made the same soft way but without the big belly band....well, hereyago!) Enjoy!0 -
They seriously look like jeans! I think I'm going to wear them on Friday and we'll see if I can pull them off. We are only allowed to wear jeans on Friday. They are seriously comfy. Will report back.0
