Snacks

I need some good protein snack ideas. On average I've been pulling in about 1000 calories a day and MFP keeps yelling at me that I need more. I'm really not hungry though!!! So I think some days I'll keep where I'm at and other days I'll a snack or two to pull me up to 1200.

Ideas? I'm hoping to go for a protein route to keep my carbs/sugars where they currently are at.

  • Do you eat animals/dairy?

    Here are some thoughts for increasing protein:
    - hard boiled eggs
    - add protein powder or gelatin to smoothies
    - jerky (yuck!)
    - avocado (but it's good fat)
    - low-fat cottage cheese
  • Jerky is on my top 5 hated foods :)


    But I think the eggs and cottage cheese are doable on a weekly basis. I definitely worry about fat, but avocado will be a good treat once a week in a sandwich or on salad. Thanks!

    I eat raw almonds for a snack - good source of protein and filling!

    I would do lettuce wraps with your choice of meats/tuna/chicken salad. Just take a lettuce leaf, wrap up whatever you like in it, and eat. You can add condiments if you like as well...guac, mayo, hot sauce, salad dressings.
