Campaign.
I hate online. My son lives online but it seems so...I dunno...then the kids hear that I'm a female and 12 year old try and pick up on me. Bleh.0 -
i used to love playing online, but now i prefer campaign. people are just too annoying these days.0

I'm an MMO person, and now get bored when it's just myself. I enjoy laughing until I cry at my kin (guid)-mates on Vent while running around doing stuff. If you're around the right people, you don't have to put up with the 12 year olds hitting on you and whatnot. Of course, that has happened, but only once or twice. Raid leaders drunk during raids (mmm that happened last night) can make for a fun time, and the eye rolls and laughs are nearly constant. And hey, if I want to be anti-social, I just don't go into Vent and I just solo around instead of grouping. I don't HAVE to raid/do runs if I don't want to, but I tend to find that to be more fun.
I just can't handle not having that when I'm playing single player. Gets too boring.
Of course, if one type of game, or even one single game, was for everyone, that'd just be dumb now wouldn't it?0 -
Online. I do get tired of the 9-year-old asshats-in-the-making, but generally I'm pretty good at mentally tuning them out. I enjoy a really good group -- one that clicks and works with great synergy. Everquest (vanilla, and maybe even up until a few months after Kunark was released) was an awesome game for that.
But, for sanity's sake, and for the sake of being a healthier person overall, I stick mostly to the campaigns these days. Easier to pause/save and go do something else when life calls. :flowerforyou:0 -
Definitely online.. I need a place to socialize with my friends and showcase my skills :happy:0

Both.....But single player (offline) campaign is great and multiplayer is great too..0

I'm definitely an offline guy. I've never really gotten into multiplayer. It doesn't help that I'm kind of a PS3 trophy *kitten*, and most online trophies take excessive amount of farming to get.0

when it comes to MMO's I defintely like grouping. doesn't have to be huge either. I get bored fast being alone. *Forever Alone*.jpg I also prefer hanging with older gamers. Have jobs, kids, married. In others the game isn't their life and are understanding if life gets in the way and the game isn't their #1 priority. I find older people are less likely into drama, etc etc. or that $p33k lik3 thizz111!!! n00b!!111 If we wipe etc etc. just laughed it off and pick ourselves up again.0

campaign is fun in the beginning but I like to play online. I love it when the men (boys) realize they just got their *kitten* kicked by a girl. 100% COD player.0

Campaign, until the past year or so. Boyfriend drug me into multiplayer. :P0

Online multiplayer is the only thing I play. I can never get myself to play campaign of any game it seems. But sometimes it gives you great things to unlock...I'd just rather go against real people to prove myself & I like the banter haha.0

I usually go for Campaign on the hardest difficulty first (I like a challenge), then I head over and play Multiplayer.0

I am more of a single player campaign player. I can't devote the time and energy to the online fragfests to make me much more than a statistic. I also get very weary very quickly of the tweenage morons, and just blocking their voices isn't always enough. Which do you prefer?

There's nothing I like better than running dungeons with friends on, say, WoW or another MMO. But I'm more into playing on LANs and what not -- like they have in Borderlands -- than in a true multiplayer setting. Diablo3 is gonna rock because of how easy it'll be to play with friends. So I am looking forward to that. Of course, I've made some good friends random grouping too.
Although, I -did- try Modern Warfare at one point. "Try" is the operative word here. I'm not meant for multiplayer fps. I had no kills and an insane amount of deaths my first time out, and the people who were playing were laughing their butts off at me -- luckily they were a decent group, so it was more playful ribbing than anything else. I did have this hilarious moment, though, when one of my teammates killed me. He had tried to warn me in Spanish, and as I do not speak a lick of Spanish, I was all, "Huh?" Then I got dead-ed. And he started apologizing profusely, again, in Spanish, which even I understood. I thought it was funny. He'd been trying to tell me to move 'cause he'd tossed a grenade. He sounded so sincerely sorry, though, about killing me that I couldn't help but laugh.0 -
Online. My guild is awesome. They understand the whole kid thing, and always remark "real life is always more important." And it's a fun group of people to chat with, joke with, etc.
It's also a way I keep in touch with out-of-state friends and family. In fact, I started playing WoW to do something with my brother, who was active duty Marines at the time and always out of state. (He's since then switched to another game, but also moved back home)0
