When do you run?

I am a mom of 4 and a teacher. I am having a VERY hard time trying to find time to run. I have tried to run in the morning, but 5am is early and I cannot drag myself out of bed. Lots of excuses - too cold, too dark, too many encounters for wildlife...I have ran a few times in the evening (after 8) but that's hard too. When do you squeeze your runs in? Any suggestions for making time to get my run in (or how to drag myself out of bed)??

I usually run after work towards the end of the day but I don't have 4 kids at home! I would say to save one workout for the weekend and then just get a babysitter/grandparents/ or someone else to come hang with the kiddos while you run for the other 2. Remember, you only need 30 minutes so ask for favors until you work out a better schedule! Or if your budget allows- invest in a craigslist treadmill0

I work from home and run on my lunch break. Since I work 6am to 4:30 M-Thur any other time I'd be running in complete darkness unless it was mid-summer.
There has been many times where I've dropped my kids of with the grandparents, or had someone come over for 45 mins so I could run. Many times I'd ask them to stay for dinner for payment.0 -
I almost always end up running around 9pm. I'm a grad student, so theoretically I could (should?) probably get up in the morning a bit earlier, but I am NOT a morning person by any stretch of the imagination. I'm not a fan of running while hungry, either, so if I'm hungry when I get home (and I usually am), I'll eat dinner first, then head out a couple hours after that, to give the food some chance to digest (if I don't, I cramp up). On the weekends I prefer to run midday. I think I'm most energetic then.0

I run about 5 - 5:30pm. I finish work at 4pm take my dogs for a 30min walk and then when i get back go for a run. It's slightly cooler but not too dark that its dangerous to be running.0

I prefer the very early morning. Sure I'm tired, but I don't want anyone to see me! The fear of being seen far outweighs waiting to wake up :laugh:0

I have the option to run pretty much whenever I want at the moment. I used to be a night runner, between 8pm and 10 usually. Sometimes I'd even run at midnight or 1 am. Now I enjoy running around 7 or 8 am. It seems to be the most peaceful time to be out there.0

I use a treadmill, so I run whenever my 3 mo old is asleep, and just bring the baby monitor with me to the room with the treadmill0

7 or 8 AM depending on the day (earlier on weekends because my shift starts earlier)0

I work from 2pm to 7.30pm on weekdays,
I used to go in the morning (morning for me is about 11.30 am) :P but now that the weather is getting warming (in australia) I'm stating to go straight after work, even though its dark and a bit scary, I find the heat really messes with my ability to finish my run as i need to keep stopping for water.
I'm also going to start going to my friends house to use her treadmill during the day so I don't have to go at night0 -
I run after work (either 4:30 pm or 6 pm) and squeeze in a 40 minute session. On weekends, I am doing a long run in the afternoon. My neighborhood is safe and well lit.0

I hate getting up early and I'm too tired after work to exercise so I'm doing something that's probably not the best for me at the moment. I set my alarm for 4:55 a.m. Mon, Wed, and Fri and immediately drink a redbull first thing while I'm getting dressed for the gym.. It's the only thing that makes me able to drag my butt out of bed that early and I feel amazing after my run. I know I can't rely on redbull forever, but for now it's helping.0

During the summer, I run/bike early in the morning, while it's still cool out. Now that winter is nearly upon us here in Colorado, I bike at lunchtime and run after work. It's dark enough in the evenings now that I run with a headlamp.0

I run at 5AM. If I don't do it before work, it won't get done! It's getting harder to do as the nights get colder, but so far I've been lucky in that it isn't brutal outside. I do have a treadmill to use if I have to, but I had a trainer tell me that the treadmill is murder on your knees, so I'm using it as a last resort only.0
