Meals during the Night?

What do you typically eat while working the night?

This is my typically work schedule for my first night back to work. I go to sleep around 10am and usually wake up around lunch because I am hungry, so I eat something light (cereal/milk) and head off back to bed and attempt to get a few more hours of sleep. I usually only get maybe 4-5 hours of sleep my first night.

I wake up, and I am not usually hungry. I might have an apple and some milk prior to leaving for work at 5:30pm.

By 8-11pm, I am usually very hungry, I will eat 1/2 of a bagel thin sandwich, save the other half for later in the night, I love celery, so I may eat some celery too. I always pack a grapefruit, apple, banana, bagel thin sandwich, yogurt and if I have my bean salad made up (I bring this too!)

It seems like I am hungry every 3 hours or so while working, so I will snack on my lunch items. I am drinking my water during the night also.

I also figured out that I am not eating enough calories when I am working. I guess my other days will balance out the calorie amounts. I typically work 2 days with a few days off and start nights again.

Please post what you eat during the night.

    I work graveyard 11pm-7:30 am
    I have 2 meals. 1 @ work and 1 @ home. a typical lunch for me @ work is
Turkey Sandwhich on whole wheat with spinach, 1 tsp of mustard, 1 tbsp of light mayo and 1 slice of kraft low fat cheese
2 cup of veggies. usually frozen Normandy mix from Costco.
    water
    jello or greek yogurt
    piece of fruit
    1 cup of coffee
    10-15 animal crackers or ½ a muffin
    granola bar

    900-1000 calories there.

I'll then have my 2nd meal around noon-1pm. I'm in bed by 3pm. wake up @ 10:30pm and do it all over again.

this is all spread out through out my shift. on Sat and Sun, I work weeknds, I also have the luxury of going outside and walking/jogging. on those days I just drink the cup of coffee and then take my fitness break. I then eat the rest of my lunch spread through out the night.

    I work 7pm - 7am.

I eat breakfast when I get up around 3-4pm. I usually have coffee (of course!), oatmeal or an egg white omelette with some toast.

I don't get to snack at all while I'm working, so I don't eat again until 11pm or 12am! Here is where I consume a good portion of calories. It varies from night to night. I try and plan ahead and make a big batch of something on my days off, so I can just grab and reheat on break. Otherwise, I eat a frozen meal. I usually have something sweet to snack on as well and (of course) another small coffee.

I have a snack on second break. Depends what I feel like... usually something around 200 calories or less.

I eat something small when I get home from work at 7am. Usually 2 egg whites, bacon and half of a light flatout wrap.

I don't log from midnight to midnight. I just log from whenever I get up, until I go back to bed.

I work 12 hours, 8:30pm-8:30am. I have a long bus commute which doesn't involve anywhere I'd like to eat. So I only eat at work on my worknights. I pretty much eat like a normal person though.

Before I clock in I have coffee and oatmeal or a bowl of cereal with almond milk.

Around midnight or so I eat lunch. It varies. Tonight I had portobello mushroom wraps.

After the 3am treatments are done(vet tech) I eat my dinner. Tonight it'll be a microwave potato with a cheese wedge. I do usually eat something more substantial though. Daystaff threw out my food in the fridge (grr!). For the past few months I've been eating a veggie/fish curry type of thing.

    My food diary's open.

Ok, this is what I've found works for me.

I get home off a night shift and into bed at about 8am - don't normally have anything to eat before going to bed
I sleep until about 2pm, and then get up, depending on whether I'm hungry or not I might have a snack - either a low calorie fruit bar, or some fruit
Between 5pm and 6pm I'll normally have my main meal of the day like I would if I was working days
then at about 7.30pm I head off to work.
Officially start work at 8.45pm and the first few hours up until midnight are normally hectic.
I normally hold out until about 2am before having what I brought in with me - which is normally a sandwich (just 2 slices of bread), an indivdiual packet of rice cakes, a low fat yogurt (or 2) and some fruit. I'll spread this out between 2am and 4am. From 5am on wards it can get quite hectic again.
I have access to my water/juice all the time, so get this in as well.
