What is the best way to determine calories burned with JD? I don't have a heart rate monitor and there is no calculator for this kidn of dance.

It's tough to do this w/o a hrm (I don't have one either). I've read that you can take your sweat points and divide it by 4.2 to get you calorie burn but some days when I play with friend's I get up to 8000 sweat points and that seems a bit ridiculous that I would have burned 1,904 calories!
It varies with weight etc... but I found this to be a great site to use as an estimate: http://www.fitnessblender.com/v/article-detail/How-Many-Calories-does-the-Wii-Just-Dance-Game-Burn/4h/0 -
The 4.2 did seem pretty ridiculous so I have been dividing the sweat points by 10 and putting that in. I decided to buy a HRM though because I do want to know so I will let you guys all know what I am averaging.0

I have a HRM so that won't be a problem for me. But, I've never been part of a group before. What exactly am I doing? lol!0

LOL you don't have to do anything. We could share sweat points for the day or week. Maybe we could all take the 7 day challenge and compare our sweat points at the end of the week!?0 -

Tha would be great, def let us know0 -
So I did my own experiment... as i mentioned I have been taking the sweat points and dividing by 10 and putting that in as calories. Today I used my new HRM and found that my old way of doing it was almost exactly the same. Obviously it will be different for each person but I think dividing by 10 will be a lot more close to the real burn compared to 4.20

Cool, thanks. Lemme know about the 7day challenge. I'll definitely have to bump up my "dancing" for that. Right now I generally only "dance" two days a week since I work 12 hour days and do my working out on my breaks on these days. But, if I'm challenged I will turn that Wii on and get dancing right when I get home and kick some dancin butt! ;-)0 -
Ditto! I would like a 7 day challenge! We just add up our points weekly! Let's do it!0

I personally have an HRM and found that it truly depends on the intensity in which you do the dances. . it also depends on whether you choose lots of songs that are ranked to be high sweat or if you are doing the low sweat songs. .
Before I had my HRM I just logged dancing as High impact aerobics. Hope this helps.0 -
I logged it as "Dance - aerobic" and it was pretty spot on with the method of dividing sweat points by 100
