And I am in the best shape for about 25 years! Currently trying to achieve a 6 pack by Christmas - my daughter asked me why? I didn't really have an answer other than, 'Because I want one'.
As a maintainer, I need to set myself mini challenges to keep me motivated and focussed because the temptation to revert back to my old ways is always there - nagging at the back of my mind.
I went to an all you can eat buffet recently. Old me would have visited the food several times, filled my plate high each time and eaten the lot! New me was far more restrained, tried a tiny bit of most things that appealed and enjoyed what I had but did not over indulge and I can honestly say that I never thought I would ever be able to be that good! EVER!! I'm really proud of myself and feel more confident in my ability to maintain for life.
Do you have challenges and goals? What struggles do you have?

martha - congrats on the new you. I'm sure you'll be able to reach your Christmas goal. Wouldn't that be a wonderful Christmas gift.
I went to an all you can eat buffet too and although I didn't try everything, I kept what I tried to a minimum. However, I did overindulge on the mushrooms. The last time I ate at a buffet was just before I started MFP.
For me losing the weight isn't a problem, it's keeping it off. Over the last 20 years I've lost weight multiple times only to gain them all back. This time I've decided I'm not on a diet, I'm changing my lifestyle. I no longer am tempted by food and I will eat what I want as long as I have enough calories to do so. I now enjoy exercising, where before it was a chore. If I don't exercise or keep myself moving, I feel sluggish.0
