I'm bummed that the scales didn't move this week...but it's my TOM, so I think it will be better next week. Also, I am loving this program so far and I hate running...so that's a good thing! :-)

I was very discouraged when I weighed in on Thursday and saw the .5 pound gain. I've been working harder than ever before and it made me so sad! I'm glad I didn't cave and give in, rather I am still going and working hard towards my goal!

W2D1 was not easy for me, but I'm excited for the day when it IS easy for me! That day will come! :)

I am always grateful for these weigh-ins because I tend to lose perspective on my weight loss journey. I was down to 194.2 on Saturday, but then am back up to 195.2 today (thinking maybe sodium from yesterday?). I was really down about being up the pound until I logged in here to post my progress. Two pounds in one week is nothing to complain about! Overall I have only lost about one pound in the last month - I keep losing and regaining the same couple of pounds. Hoping to see the scale continue to drop this week. I just need to keep up my motiviation!

I completed week 1 in its entirety on Friday. I did well at keeping to my preplanned schedule which was a problem the last time I started this program - something always came up or I was sore or something... I think having the indoor track and guaranteed babysitting (free!) is going to really help with that. Overall I feel the week went well, but each day seemed more difficult to complete. It seems like it should have been the other way around (easier as I progressed). I am hoping that it is just my body getting used to running again and that having a couple of days off from it this weekend will make today's run a little better. I felt fantastic after each day though - very accomplished!

    Here's to W2D1!!!

I convinced my husband to also do this with me, but he didn't start until yesterday. I may continue ahead of him or do the last 2 days of W1 over again so that we will be on the same schedule. I'll have to see if he is really committed to it.

You ladies are all doing an amazing job!! We can do this!

That's great that you were able to convince your husband to begin!! If you are doing well so far, I would say keep on your schedule. You may end up needing to repeat a day later in the program which would make him catch up to you anyway, or he might need to, and then you would be separate again anyway.

W2D1 went really well for me this evening. The addition of some support in my shoes made a huge difference. I am slow which drives me slightly batty, only walking at 3.5 mph and running between 4.0 and 4.5 but hey it is faster than last week. I am short., only 5' 2". I swear that when I run with my friend who is 5'8" I take 2 strides for every 1 she takes! On the up side I burn more
    calories than she does:)

Hope everyone else is getting it done. Have a fab week:happy:

I run very slowly, too! I generally walk at 3-3.5 and run between 4 and 4.5.

Today I did W2D1 and it was KILLER for me!!! I think it's cause I didn't get the chance to work out since Thursday. Gonna go back tomorrow and try to repeat the day, and hopefully it will go a little easier for me!

I'm not weighing myself until December though!

I completed W2D1 today and found the last couple of runs to be difficult towards the end, but was very proud of myself once I had completed the session. I am taking tomorrow off from exercise in its entirety and am hoping that I will do better with D2 on Wednesday. I am considering getting up and doing the C25K in the a.m. and then zumba in the afternoon rather than lumping it all together like today. I am not much of a morning person, so we will see how that goes when Wed. morning rolls around...lol

W2D1 was an absolute killer. I think I messed myself up by uping my speed to 3.5 walk and 5.5 run. Last week it seemed like I needed to up my speed but I didn't think I'd survive yesterday. I busted out in tears (for no reason) while I was stretching. Now I understand why the biggest loser people bust out crying after a hard workout.

Dropping my speed back to 3 and 5 tomorrow.

One thing about this program is that you aren't supposed to worry about how fast you are going. As long as it is more of a jog than a walk, it is fine. The speed will come. I think that one of the downfalls of using a treadmill rather than running outside is that you can actually see how fast you are going rather than going at whatever speed works for you at the moment. Whatever allows you to get through the session is the speed at which you should run. Don't get caught up in the number. The speed will come as your endurance improves.

Completed W2D2 today. I discovered that my problem with completing the 90 seconds was not my muscles wanting to give out, but me not being able to control my breathing. Anyone know how we are supposed to be breathing? Sounds like a stupid question now that I write it out, but I really think this will be the key for me....

Completed W1D2 today. I dropped my speed back down and it was much easier. I actually could breath between run times. I was worried after D1 and really dreaded D2 but I made it through.

Hey! Just completed W2D1. I am going to have to run on both Friday and Saturday to get my running in for the week. We went away for two days, so I am a little behind, but I have to say that today's workout felt GREAT!

As for the breathing part, I have always struggled with that and recently my husband heard someone explain how to breathe while running. I have tried it and it works just great for me. This is what I do.

    In, In, In, Out
    Step, step, step, step

So you basically count 1, 2, 3, 4 and you breathe in on 1, 2,3 and out on 4. It helps me keep my feet to a beat also.

Anyway, just something that has worked for me.

Just finished day 2 for week 2. I have a question. I am doing the program outside and I wondered if any of you do it on a treadmill or something, if you knew how far you are going at the week 2 level? My husband and I used google maps to figure out that we went 2 miles in 30 minutes. Is that good? I know it depends on everyone's speeds, but I don't jog very fast yet. I was just wondering what it compared to what some of you guys are doing?

My goal is to increase the distance each week. Like this week, go two miles in 30 minutes, next week go further, etc. I am still doing the times that the program gives us, but sometimes I do an extra run or two, depending on how far away from the house we are. :-)

Anyway, your thoughts on this would be GREAT!

It means that on average you are going 4.0 miles per hour, which is not too bad in my opinion!

W2D3 is complete!!! It was actually a little easier than day 2. I did better with my breathing. I never really was able to establish a pattern, but I made sure to make my inhales and exhales as steady as I could and as deep as I could. I am looking forward to week 3!! See you all on the next thread!
