Mississippi Group -- Week 1 Challenge

Our first challenge of our groups first week together is this. We are going to try to burn 400 calories per day through exercise. This can be the exercise of your choice. I realize that some like walking, some like the elliptical, or others forms of exercise. Some may even like to do an exercise variety. But let's get up and get moving. I encourage each of you to log your exercise into MFP and then come to this topic and post your exercise and the calories burned. This will encourage and motivate others. I personally like to see how many calories can be burned through certain types of exericse, dont you? Let's Move it, Mississippi.

Day 1 Goal Met :happy:
Bike Riding --- 27 minutes ---225 calories
Leslie Sansone ---25 minutes ---205 calories
TOTAL 52 minutes ---430 calories0 -
Yahoo! I burned 643 calories climbing the stairmaster at the gym this evening. I climbed at 75 steps per minute for 30 seconds, climbed at 45 steps per minute for 15 seconds, and repeated this interval for 30 minutes. With a 10 minute warmup and 12 minute cooldown, thats 52 minutes!!! Yea!!! Feels great.0

General aerobics : 20 mins = 294 calories burned
I got the exercise in between services at church so I think that it's not too bad for a Sunday. :flowerforyou:0 -

400 a day is pushing it for me, at least right now. I am sticking to 20-30 minute workouts for the most part, to keep it manageable and consistent during the holidays. I'm pleased with anything over 200 though! :happy:0 -

All of you are doing great. I know I love having a challenge daily. It is a good motivator to do just a little more than necessary. Do you ever feel like you only do the barest neccessity of exercises. I know sometimes I think that I could have done a little better but the motivation to do so just hasnt been there. Thanks guys for your support. Just remember to do your best and you will see results.0
