Big 8K swim on Thurdsay

On Thursday I'm doing an 8K swim as training for a 12.5K challenge in April. I was supposed to do it last week but had to put it off as my shoulder was sore.

Does anyone have any ideas for high energy meals befor a big swim? I'm always hungry part way through, I've tried high carbs the night before and I always eat 2 bananas or 1 and a breakfast bar half an hour before i get to the pool but nothing stops the hunger.

Please all ideas welcome Xxx

    I've never been hungry while swimming so I don't know what would be best - just wanted to wish you luck on your swim!

    I don't get hungry while I swim either. But I find days where I eat a bowl of oatmeal an hour and half before I swim, I'm not as hungry after ?

    I did my swim today in just under 3 hours and I found the cure for hunger!!! Penut butter on a breakfast bar and a banana. One of my friends said to try it as its slow release energy. It worked like a dream was not hungry at all Yippee Xxx
