Not to overshare, but when I woke up this morning my uterus felt like it had been on the losing side of a bar fight. As I ached my way through my work day, stoically sipping green tea and telling myself that I would
1) not take an entire bottle of Midol and
2) not spend the day crying in a bathroom stall
...I got to thinking. Why the HECK did my uterus think it was a good idea to feel like it was being burned/stabbed/punched on a day when I almost burst into tears because I was sad that my kitten was home alone? (Yes, I get a little moody.)

So, I googled it.

This is what I found:

Enjoy!

Eleven days ago I was woken up by what felt like an atomic bomb going off inside my uterus. It was the worst cramp I can remember having and it wouldn't go away or lose severity no matter what position I got into. After about 15 minutes of that it went away leaving residual pain followed by spotting and then intense lower back pain and then within hours I was like a waterfall. :explode:

Anyway, it was very strange because I've always been pretty much on time every time and this was nearly a half-month early. So I went to the doctor for examination and I was just fine. I was told it was likely caused by my recent increase in physical activity, changes in my diet and overall stress. Our bodies are amazing and bit**y things aren't they? :grumble: Love the kiddie info by the way. lol Very savvy.

A year and 1/2 ago I was sleeping and woke up thinking 'OMG horrible cramps!!!'. I mean they were awful. Then I remembered I was 9 months pregnant. I was going into labor at 3am and dreaming that I was getting my period. Crazy.

This is why I went to see my OBGYN and got on birth control... cause I couldn't take the pain anymore! Mine started in the front, wrapped around to the back and down into my tailbone... and those suckers hurt! No matter how much pain meds I took, I couldn't walk for very long... and if I could, it was a miracle.

Now, I barely have any pain.. but I'm still the biggest ***** around... which I'm ok with :)

I've always had bad cramps, but after I had kids, they are now akin to labour pains. Usually waking me in the middle of the night: ripping uterus, joined by back pain, shoots down legs into the soles of my feet. My doctor prescribed naproxen, but I only notice a real improvement if I can get on top of it with a preemptive dose. It's hard to explain to a woman who's never had cramps :ohwell: (some of the women at work) and they don't understand how miserable they are.

I've just gone back on the pill this month because when I'm not on it, I get cramps so bad it feels like someone is just constantly stabbing my uterus, and sometimes the pain is so bad that it's hard to stand up straight. I also get really sick in the stomach, and some months I haven't been able to eat for the whole time and during the worst months I've barely been able to keep water down. Got my first period since being back on the pill and it is such a huge difference!!! I haven't had any cramps, I've been able to eat normally and I even went for a decent walk the other day. That and my urge to kill someone the day it started didn't rear it's head so even though I have problems swallowing tablets I'm going to stick to the pill this time.

Mine are just like that! They're a lot more painful and a lot heavier now that I'm exercising and losing weight for some reason -___- Thank God I got my mom to get me some birth control pills ^_^
