Mine was when I got put on the birth control pill. My doc told me once I hit 35, it was either the pill or the smokes. I then read about all the complications smoking causes when you are on the pill. I was pretty much done after that.

Mine was doing cardio during workouts. My heart was getting stronger and I wasn't nearly so winded, so I thought "why the heck am I still smoking and holding back improving even more???" I just suddenly felt like such an idiot doing all this work to get healthy and still smoking.

This is a very good point!

Sadly, it wasn't when I had either of my kids. I cut back but I still smoked through both pregnancies. My breaking point was five days ago when I tried to start c25k and I almost couldn't breathe for a whole hour. I haven't had another one since. I want to be a runner.

When I realized that the reason I am so poor, and can't afford nice things is because I throw away almost $4000 a year to smoke! I'm going to save all of it next year and use it to finally get married. Thats just one reason, the other being I'm tired of coughing all the time... now I hardly cough at all.
