Hey everyone! Let's do a breathing set this week:

6 x 50 free on 20 seconds rest
#1 - 6 breaths total
#2 - 5 breaths total
#3 - 4 breaths total
#4 - 3 breaths total
#5 - 2 breaths total
#6 - 1 breath total

This is just an example, so pick how many breaths you want to shoot for :)

Completed the breathing set this morning:

    3x50 3 breaths on 20 sec
    3x50 2 breaths on 20 sec

I have a love/hate relationship between breathing sets, I totally hate doing them, but I've found that by doing them on a consistent basis has lowered my 50 and 100 meter times.

Nicely done Troy! I'm with ya on the love/hate relationship - I look at it as an opportunity to not have to swim as fast, though, but still work hard by doing a different type of challenge.

btw - no pool for me all week while out of town, but I'll be able to swim again tomorrow and will do this challenge then!

I intended to swim this morning. I always forget something in my bag- my hairbrush, my goggles, my towel, something! This morning it was.... my suit!

The Y frowns on skinny dipping, so it looks like I'll have to get my laps (and challenge) in tomorrow!

LOL that must have been so frustrating CALake.

I know I'm a little late on this challenge but I did it this morning. I was being kind of a wimp at first and I haven't done a breathing set in 4 years, seriously. I just kind of forgot about them when I got back into swimming last year. So I did:
    2x50 7 breaths
    2x50 6 breaths
    1x50 5 breaths
    1x50 3 breaths.

I really should have done 6-5-4-4-3-3 but live and learn. I'll know next time.

    Happy swimming :)
