Hey all!

I've been trying to get my calories right and haven't had any luck so far. I'm in the middle of a FIVE month plateau and I know I need to change it up. I did my numbers over on fat2fit and it put me at about 1530 for sedentary. I was going to try this plus eating back my exercise calories (because when I did this calorie range before w/o the exercise calories, I lost nothing still).

I am wondering where you have your calories set vs. how much you work out, etc.

My calories are currently set at 1550 and I only work out about 2-3 times a week. I'm in college so I spend most of my time sitting around trying to study.
I've been losing about 1/2 lb a week. I'm 5'2'' if that matters, lol.

I have mine set at 1410, that is to lose 1lb a week for me. I almost always eat back all of my exercise calories. I was at 1200 calories and eating back the exercise calories but I quit losing so I went up to the 1410 and I am losing again.

I am at 1200 and I have problems getting them all in on most days. Or I should say I have a hard time getting them all in when I'm NOT going out to eat for sinner. Lol. I saw a nutritionist a few years ago and she set me at 1200/ day to lose 1-2 lbs a week if I am not exercising.

i'm at 1200 cals before exercise. I try not to eat back my exercise cals but then it tells me I'm not eating enough. Today I saw a jump in the scale because I snacked and had beer last night after a bad day but usually the 1200 has been enough for me.

I recently changed mine to 1100 before exercise - i'm just experimenting as I have really not been losing much on 1200. Some days I eat back, some days i don't, but because I am hopeless at weighing my food portions (I have a fairly good eye from lots of baking experience, but I am sure I under and over estimate a bit) I like to leave a buffer in my logged cals. Plus I don't use a HRM I go by what the cardio equipment in the gym tells be I've used (I do enter my weight and I use the HRM on the machine) and round down the MFP estimates for basic things like walking outdoors etc.

I get the "You are eating too few cals" even if I am in the green by 15 cals so I don't pay too much attention to it. If I am hungry and I have extra cals I'll eat them, but if I have spare and I'm full I dont see the point in eating to get to a number.

I eat around 1200, sometimes a tiny bit less, sometimes up to 1500. I think I usually eat back some of my exercise calories but not a lot of them. If I feel hungry I eat more. I saw a dietician and she said that this is good for me as I am energetic and not feeling hungry. She advised me to not eat less, and to eat more if I felt hungry. When I eat balanced I seem to lose weight. This week hasn't been that great, we'll see what my weigh in and measurements say tomorrow!

I'm set at 1200. Before I usually exercised for about an hour or hour and a half, six to five days a week. I ate some of my exercise calories back or all if I was still hungry. Now I exercise about a half hour for 3 or 4 days. I only lowered it because I messed up both of my ankles and had bronchitis. I'm not 100% better so I'm not going to go crazy on exercise yet. I've still been able to lose weight. I just haven't continued to have the opportunity to increase strength and so forth.

Mine was at 1200 calories, weekly goal to loose 2 lbs, haven't lost 2 lbs so far with that, actually lost 1 lbs or less than a half pound a week. So Friday I've changed my weekly goal to 1 lbs a week, which put me at 1410 calories a day. I'm set as lightly active although I'm sedentary because I sit the whole day except for my workouts... I wanted to change to sedentary and then eat back my exercise calories.

But think I'll stick with the lightly active setting for now. Lost 2.2 lbs from Friday to today Monday, with my weekly goal on 1 lbs a week.

I actually have mine set at 1800 which to me seems like a lot but it's way less than what MFP had me set at initially. On a regular basis I don't eat anymore than 1200 getting in mostly all of the exercise calories I put in that day. My doctor explained to me as long as I'm getting full (not stuffed) and not starving myself. I've been losing upto 2lbs a week and i workout 6x's a week with a rest between those days.

Mine is set to 1200 before exercise, and I usually try to not eat too much past that if I have exercised. However, I'm going into my 5th week of a plateau and am playing with the idea of increasing my goal since what has been working for over 6 months has stopped.

I eat over 2,000 calories daily and I'm losing weight. This time last year eating anything, even just one apple a day was making me gain but now I struggle to keep the weight on! I'm not trying to lose but just maintain. How much we need depends on how active we are, our age, sex, and weight. I'm 98lbs and 5ft, so I don't really need to lose weight, I hope this helps someone see that you can be reaaally short, eat more and still lose weight:)

Mine are at 1,800 (1/2 pound a week weight loss) because I fail to reach my goal every time I lower it. I am 197 lbs. and 5' 3". I usually exercise daily (about 200 calories worth) and eat those, too. I am losing, but only a 1/2 pound a week.
