For those of you who are trying to quit for the first time, or whatever time really, and you are on day one or two, HANG IN THERE. I swear to you, it gets easier as each day goes by. The first 2 days were always the WORST for me. I would sometimes literally run out of my office across the street to buy cigarettes at CVS because I couldn't stand it.

I quit again this year on January 2nd. That was probably the 10th time I had seriously quit smoking, and I had been a smoker for 31 years (since I was 12 years old). For some reason, this was "the" time for me. I am done forever.

What I did that helped this time was I totally avoided leaving the building during the day that first week or so. No gym, nothing. Stay strong! Lots of gum, sugar free candies to suck on. And if you are using a quit smoking aid such as the gum or patch, don't get cocky and think you can do it on your own after just a couple of days. That was always one of my biggest downfalls, feeling like I had it beat, when I did not.

YOU CAN DO IT!!! Do it for yourself, for your spouse, for your kids.

I will add to this Don't think you can take a Puff or two and quit!
It will not happen that one Puff leads to two and so on.
Don't light up! I am cheering for you
