Day 1
Starting weight – 242
Cleaned out the fridge and pantry of non Primal food, 1 trashcan of partially opened food and two boxes of unopened food. I’ll out it out for the Boy Scouts this Saturday, who are piu\cking up food for the less fortunate. I feel somewhat guilty giving them the food that I will no longer eat.

Walked 30 minutes with 3 X 30 second sprints. All you youngins, don’t laugh, I’m a fat old man.

Have to go buy a pullup bar

Day 2
Weight 241 lost 1 pound.

Shopped at TJ’s and WF, bought grass fed butter, bacon, 90% ground beef, two New Yorks.

Aerobic Workout: 30 min walk at 3.5 MPH

Relaxing: Read with thre TV off.

Day 3
Weight 241 – no change from yesterday, 1 pound total on Xformation
Planned dinner of Salmon and sweetaters.

Knee pushups - 5X10. Last five were a bear.
Assisted squats - 50. Listened to my metal knee click.

You are are doing great, no laughing here either.

I was getting all set to the primal fitness routine and was trying to get my head around it all. On the primal forums I came across a simple fit routine, body weight circuit...basic, simple but tough. I am getting my head around pullups. I think I will be doing body rows or assisted pullups for a long time to come.

I am off to do my first set of sprints shortly... I suspect my intervals will be only about 15secs :) and I doubt there will be a lot of them...but glad I am starting and hopefully before long there will be some noticable improvement.

The 21 Day uses four very simple essential movements, pushup, pullups, squats and planks. They give examples how to start off for people like me, out of shape and not used to doing those movements, and then move up to more difficult ways of doing them as you progress and get in better shape. Tomorrow, I am going to incorporate my kettle bell also. I got a chinup bar thet slipes over the door frame without screws, so I'll try that tomorrow. Hopefully the door won't come down. Baseline is 12. If I can do one, I will be surprised. The last pullups I did were in bootcamp in '63 at 155 pounds, and then I could only dow a few.

KK, how did the sprints go?

    Day 5
Weight 239, gained 1 pound from yesterday, down 3 pounds from start.

    Challenges:

Modern Foraging – dine out twice trying to stay Primal.
Breakfast – Three Egg, bacon, mushroom, swill omelet with fresh fruit. I sent back the orange juice (spikes my blod glucose) and Pumpkin Spice Muffin. That was difficult.
Dinner – Veal Marsala. Didn’t eat the mashed potatoes or warm herb bread.

Exercise – Primal essential Movement Workout. Didn’t do this, but did a lot of walking at the Farmers Market.

I found it too difficult to follow the plan with the rain, wife home on vacation and all the running around we are doing getting ready for Thanksgiving, so I’ll give it a try later.
