My parents - who are hosting Thanksgiving tomorrow - specifically requested that I make the stuffing.

The stuffing.

You know, the side dish WHICH IS MADE ALMOST ENTIRELY OF BREAD.

"Hey Mom," said I, "You know that I don't eat bread, right?"

"I'm not telling you to EAT it," said she, "just to MAKE it!"

And I did make it (this afternoon), and I had no problem doing so - I've been Primal long enough that I'm truly not tempted by such things anymore. I just thought it was funny, and I thought the folks in this group might think so, too. :)

Oh, and P.S. - I also made some roasted veggies (in coconut oil - so yum!), and tomorrow morning I'll roast up some brussel sprouts, as well as making this sinful-looking-but-Primal-friendly dessert: http://domesticitynouveau.blogspot.com/2011/11/spiced-chocolate-pumpkin-custard.html

We've already told our (adult) kids that this is the last year we are making certain dishes for the holidays. The recipes are being bequeathed to them, and if they want them next year - well, then they'll know what to bring! :)

I'm trying this out. If it doesn't come out well, then I don't know. But it couldn't be too hard.

Apple Bacon Upside Down Cake. And I found some Uncured Apple Smoked Bacon to use. Can't wait to try!!

I've seen the Chocolate Pumpkin Custard - it sounds delicious!!

And I will be taking my own sweet potato (and grass-fed butter) with me. And coconut oil to drench the turkey in!
