Working Out During TOM

Monday I didn't go to the gym because of my period. Yesterday I was so sick from it that I actually broke a sweat climbing the stairs. However, today I went to the gym and worked out because things were getting a bit easier and I was even able to make it through a fitness class. It was harder than usual and I left earlier than I normally would from the gym for obvious reasons. I wonder, what kind of workouts do you do when your period comes? Do you take a break? Do you modify your routine?

I normally take a break the first three days. Those are the days that I have it at it's worst. The fourth day I get back on track.0

I know how you feel. The first days were always the worst for me too. All I could do was curl up in the fetal position and cry. After that, I'd have no trouble working out.0 -
I don't workout on day 2, because I am afraid of leaks.0

It depends on the month really. Some months it hardly affects me and I power through, sometimes I need a bit more of a rest.0

I find I definitely don't feel like it, but if I can make myself do it I feel so much better. As far as leaks are concerned, I went through 10 weeks of heavy bleeding last year, and I wore a tampons and a pad and keps my workouts short.

I usually take the week off, but it's usually the first 2 or 3 days that I'm in pain. It's horrible, horrible, horrible, the 1st three days for me that is. I think I might try what you do this time and work out on the 4th.0

I took today off (day one) to much pain and not enough energy... blah.. sometimes being a woman sucks!0

On the heavy days I take a break but then I work out harder to kinda make up for the days lost.0

I wouldn't work out for 2 days when I had my period because it was so bad. Mine usually lasts for 3-4 days, so I didn't have to miss that much of my workout. However, I haven't had a period for the past 2 months, soo..0

I often take a rest day during the heaviest days.0
