Hi - My name is Tamara. I live in Penasquitos area. Trying all sorts of new exercise programs. I LOVE dancing so I'm going to try Zumba and possibly Hot Hula. I'm addicted to The Bar Method. Lost 20 lbs. slowly and hoping to do it the right way this time. I've attempted boot camps but I don't think I'm there yet. Just trying to stay motivated and focused. The exercise is the easy part . . . the food is the hard part.

I love Penasquitos area, so nice and new over there!

    Hello Everyone,

My name is Jessica, and I'm new to MFP (as in 2 days). I recently moved to San Diego and have been inspired to get fit. I joined a bootcamp class that I go to 4 days a a week at Liberty Station that I'm really enjoying. If anyway is interested in trying the class let me know they are having free walk-in trial all this month.

    hi everybody,

i've been on mfp for probably a year now, but i've only been using it here and there. i'm taking it seriously now. a couple of weeks ago i started following the c25k schedule because i have the disney half marathon coming up in september. i did that a couple of years ago and i survived, but my legs killed me for an entire week after. this time i figured i'd train and do it somewhat right. i'm a little late in the training part since it's only 2 months away, but it'll be better than last time!

anyway, i've been on this weight loss goal for most of my life and finding other like minded people in the same area would be great support! if there's anybody out there that isn't a runner, but more of a jogger and is still training to do long distance jogs, hit me up! =D i like going outdoors (mission bay, balboa park, cowle's mountain, etc.). if not, my butt is at 24hr.

feel free to friend me. i like to read the newsfeed and make comments. happy fitnessing!

I'm in East County...anyone else have horses/ride horses? I'm always looking for new people to ride with, and it IS great exercise. I do endurance, so I am constantly going at a fast pace, posting, two-pointing, etc. I have wicked definition in my arms because my mare tries yanking my shoulders out of their sockets when we're at the start line.

Anyways, it's late but I was logging food and realized I hadn't checked the San Diego group in a while.

Greetings all. I'm Mike, from Rancho Penasquitos. I'm a relatively new MFP user (3+ weeks) and finding it MUCH easier than manually counting calories like I did the last time around. Hopefully, this time I stick with it.

I'm a Nerd-of-all-Trades, hardcore Foodie and Beer Snob, Expedition camper, Robotics coach, artist, and most importantly Husband and Father.

I'm all about trying to build my motivation and support network, since I know sooner or later my enthusiasm will wane, I need people to help kick my *kitten* back into gear!

    Hi Neighbor,

MFP is a great tool andI am really happy with it. Maybe I'll see you at URGE over in RB? We seek the holy grail of low-cal beer (relatively) that tastes like a decent IPA or Dopplebock beer.

Hey finchest-- I agree about the weather-- the air feels all sticky and gross. Ive been doing my workouts early at the bay as much as possible. At least at the bay there is a breeze!

    Hi all,

My name is Sean. I live in Mira Mesa but I spend most of my time in Downtown or Hillcrest working or at coffee shops. Found out about MFP because my startup company is developing a self-tracking app and I've heard a lot about MFP through the Quantified Self movement. I'm a frequent runner of Miramar Lake, which is almost exactly 5 miles around. I want to get this weight off for good and cut some time off of my Miramar Lake run.

    So... Hello!

Hi - I'm Kristena -just started MFP and bought a fitbit to track my activity level as well. I'm practically at zero for exercise after having 2 surgeries on my ankle. Trying to increase the activity level without too much pain. I'm a Mom in my late 30s - losing weight is getting harder and harder. Really want to be healthy and active to enjoy my children as well as my own life.

I actually have over 100 lbs to lose which is daunting to think about. So I'm going to try to think about 10 lbs at a time. I'm originally from the Midwest (IL) so I do love to eat. Dieting is not much fun. but neither is being obese.

Hi, I'm Thaddeus. I'm a single dad who lives near the pier in OB. I singed up for this thing a year ago and then kind of fell off. I'm into water sports, hiking, biking, basketball, frolf, and playing with my son. I would be great to connect with some locals who are active and inspired. I've been using the app and just realized there's a whole community on here.

I hope to see some of you guys around.

Hi all I am 29, and I go to USD Law. I live by Balboa park and run at Balboa Park and Tecolote Canyon all the time. Hit my up if you want a running partner. I used to be a runner, but I have switched to mostly boxing, and I need to run more to get ready for a Spartan I'm going to do in January. BTW Spartan is free to volunteers, and I am still trying to convince someone to do it with me.

I work out at City Boxing most days of the week. I do yoga or attempt to play soccer in Balboa park on occasion. I climb at Solid Rock every now and then. If any of this sounds like fun... I'm always looking for workout buddies of all ability levels :) I would especially like to learn Soccer or have another sparring partner.

Also, my boyfriend does free diving and spear fishing. If anyone is into that and wants a buddy to go with, let me know. He goes most Fridays, and I'm afraid he's going to be swept out to sea or eaten by a shark!
