  • LOL, i just realized i posted Dune. Stupid Me. Dune was a movie before it became a game, and is probably one of the first if not THE first RTS.

I'm pretty sure i meant Doom, but since it's been mentioned numerous times...

Of those other movies based on games listed, i think Tomb Raider is the only one that's "tolerable". I didn't think the movies were all that bad, but then again i can't stand Angelina Jolie. Take away my man card if you need to, but she annoys the living hell outta me.

OHH didn't they make a Dungeon Siege movie as well?

How could I forget Doom! It was a car crash, but the Rock makes me laugh lol

Just found a list on wikipedia, how can I forget these quality titles:
Tomb Raider - I enjoyed both of these, even if it was just for AJ! :D
Mortal Combat - I loved this when it came out and still do, however, should not have made the second
Street Fighter - Enough said on that
    And the best of all...
Super Mario Bros - hahaha what a film this is! Still makes me chuckle when I watch it lol

In 1986, I started playing The Bard's Tale for the Commodore 64. It really got me hooked on RPG games.

Anacreon: Reconstruction 4021 was the first resource based strategy game I ever played and probably one of the better ones.

Everquest was amazing when I first started playing in 1999.

All the civilization games are great... Warcraft... Starcraft..

Fallout 1 & 2. Best games ever! Never found another game since with so many options and variations of the game. Every new character was almost a new story line. The humor and references to movies and other things were awesome too. Still love to play that game.

Boy, that's a toughie, I've been playing video games for 30+ years. Lots of good ones in that mix. The Final Fantasy series comes to mind. But I think my favorite would still be the Soulreaver series. Superb writing, great plot twists, fantastic voice-acting... it had it all. If they ever do a follow-up for the current- or next generation consoles, I'll lose my freakin' mind!

Dragon Age Origins (great story and character development)

Day of the Tentacle (I love point and clicks. This one had a great premise. I loved the puzzles, and how you has to shift characters/ times, and the humor)

Zelda -- Link to the Past & Ocarina of Time were just incredible games!

I also enjoyed a little-known game called Zombies Ate My Neighbors -- kooky animations on SNES with some crazy boss fights made this game great.

Left 4 Dead 2 - I love fighting tanks and also killing off the survivors in versus.

    notable mentions:
    Super Mario 3
Zelda A Link to the Past - the first game I played for the SNES and I was hooked.
    Contra III
    Limbo
    Cave Story+
    Left 4 Dead
Counter-Strike - I spent countless hours playing this
Call of Duty Series especially MW2
    Half-life series
    Portal series
    Terraria
    Darksiders
    Fire Emblem series
I'm sure I missed some great games

I love the Grand Theft Auto series, top of my list has to be San Andreas, I've just started Vice City again and I thought GTA IV was great. I don't want to hear anything about V until there is a release date!

I also love The Sims, bad addiction for many years but I will also buy any tycoon game going. If you would have asked me this question in 1994 I would have said "Theme Park" I spent all my time playing it on the PC and a few years later "Theme Hospital", I loved Bullfrog at that time.

Another top of the list game that I go back to all the time is "Roller Coaster Tycoon" I love it, I've been playing RCT3 again recently.

    Depends on my mood:

FPS - Left 4 Dead 2 - Its a squad based first person shooter where you kill zombies. How do you not love this game?

TPS - GTA 4 - Super fun game to goof off playing. Just get an auto shottie, motorcycle, and take over the town

RPG - Skyrim - just got into this game a month ago, amazing

MMO - WoW - I dont even play WoW anymore, but I have played other MMOs, and they are terrible in comparison

Racing - Need For Speed Hot Pursuit - smashing cars is fun

    My pic says it all.

But there are so many others that were great. Goldeneye, Metroid(nes), Zelda, NWO vs WCW are all tops on my list. maybe this list should be broken down by generation?

Game I've probably played most is Lord of The Rings Online, so I guess that has to be the one. Started playing on Gilrain over 4 years ago and I'm still there. Dread to think how much of my life its taken and what I could have done with that time :S

Does it have a command to track it? I know WoW and Everquest do. Everquest is /played and it is absolutely frightening. I think I stopped looking when I passed a year. And now I've been playing it again for the past month.

You are all wrong. It's ActRaiser for SNES. Too bad they didn't make a sequel.
